"We'd decided to go to Green Lane fish and chip restaurant last Friday having had a busy day.We had been intending to have the rag pudding but when we sat down Paul the owner manager told us they were doing a Christmas special which he highly recommended as did all the staff. So we both had the Festive pie with chips, mushy peas and gravy. The pie included Turkey, sausages, stuffing in gravy and was absolutely delicious. We both really enjoyed it but I struggled to eat it all as it was quite a generous portion. As usual the staff were very friendly and helpful. The service has always been excellent and overall value for money."

locally to me, this chippy is top-creuz. fish and chips are simply top-class. I also have to mention the wutpuddings they sell. that's a real tasty bite. always with customers to explore and enjoy a great selection of goodies. I'm so glad they can open up during these trials. at least we have something to be happy if peckish.

this is an incredibly popular chippy that deserves its high rating and good call. but in addition, has an excellent gluten-free selection. the gluten-free scattered fish is the best I have surpassed in the opposite and I have tried many places. the staff will cook to order, but if they give them a call as they turn off, they will let it wait for them. they can also immerse so that they can enjoy eating best.

The food and service at this restaurant were absolutely fantastic. We visited to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday, and the gluten free menu was excellent. My wife has Coeliac disease, so it can be difficult to find good restaurants that offer options for her. Even though I am not gluten free, I tried their gluten free food and found it to be really tasty. The service was quick, friendly, and efficient. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

We visited the restaurant as a group of three for dinner. Our friend, who joined us, has dietary restrictions for gluten and dairy. He usually has difficulty finding suitable options on menus, but this was not the case here. The restaurant had a wide variety of gluten-free dishes, including gluten-free beer. They also offered oat milk and dairy-free ice cream for dessert. We were extremely pleased with the food and service and will definitely return the next time our friend is in town from Guernsey. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We have been to this restaurant many times and never been disappointed. We went recently and tried something different. We both had the garlic mushrooms for starters which were delicious. My partner had the fish cake while the moussaka with Greek salad. My partner enjoyed her fish cake while my moussaka was absolutely delicious. It was a very large portion and I couldn't eat it all. As usual the service was fantastic with all the staff being very friendly and efficient. I would recommend Green Lane to anyone looking for a pleasant eating environment which is reasonable value for money.

"After reading the reviews we was really looking forward to eating here ,however it turned out to be the worst tapas and worst service we have ever received . After waiting 10 minutes for someone to take our drinks order we then waited a further 30 mins to be served with what can only be described as toast with tasteless mushed up tomatoes on , this was inedible and hardly touched , a further 20 minutes on and we was served a single dish of chicken between two of us again this was very bland and resembled nothing like a original tapas dish more like a chicken korma again this was hardly touched . When I enquired as to where the rest of the food was I was told they was very busy . With this we decided to cut our loses and asked for the bill . Before leaving we tried to have a conversation with the manager who is also the chef to give some honest feedback ,however he wasn’t open to listening , he’s response was “it’s normal in a tapas restaurant to receive one dish at a time between two with a large gap between dishes wasn’t it explained to you that’s what tapas is “We felt this was a very patronising remark as we eat tapas on a regular basis and know this is definitely not the case . To matters worse there was people who came in after us with multiple plates and tucking in nicely to their meals . The manager who was obviously struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night should have just apologised and admitted our order had been overlooked . If you are looking for authentic Tapas with excellent service in Wigan go to Casa Carlos this place doesn’t deserve your hard earned money ."
