"Overlooking the stunning harbour of Rio Marina on the island of Elba is the wonderful Ristorante Il Grigolo. The food on offer here ideally compliments the wonderful surroundings. Seafood is the king on the menu with a wide variety of dishes on offer from delectable...starters that include a medley of pickled fish to a comprehensive range of main meals. My friend and I shared a superb lobster risotto while another had the seafood pasta. Finish this with an Affogato (drowned) an ice cream with an espresso coffee poured on it, and all is well with the world. All served with a fresh white wine that just brought the whole occasion to very delightful climax. The whole meal was presented wonderfully by charming and helpful staff and all at a very reasonable price. What’s not to like?"

we had to wait minutes until a bottle of wine minutes for the main course, staff is very unfriendly with tourist. the quality of food is below average, try something else.

we arrived with the intent to eat only a fry (among other things very good.) having still a bit of hunger, we decide to take a first and the choice falls on the fresh pasta: space skiers!

fresh raw materials, cured and delicious dishes, very kind staff, honest prices. the menu is short and it is only fish (just some option for carnivores.) I took the sea gnomes and I was special. the fried was good, greedy and light, the start of the sea good and original. Congratulations!

we ate last night, booked and after minutes we had the table, served by a very kind waiter, attentive to the details, warning us of the delays of the kitchen, and in recommending the tuna to the plate. great appetizer, very good frying, and top tuna. thank you very much for the experience and good to the waiter who served us.
