"Since the menu was limited, three of us opted for the chicken burgers which turned out to be disappointing - the chicken was tough and unpleasant. Despite waiting almost an hour for our food, it seemed like it had been precooked and reheated. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the food twice, but the waitress only apologized. We did not pay for my sister's meal due to the mix-up, even though it was the cheapest option at around £6. There was also no noticeable difference in quantity compared to the regular chicken burger meals priced at £14 each. When the waitress cleared our plates, she could see that we had hardly touched our food. To top it off, the beer was warm and we were unable to drink it. We left feeling disappointed and only received an apology for not enjoying our meal. Although we had previously enjoyed dining at this restaurant about a year ago, we will not be returning in the future."

"The restaurant is typically good, but tonight the fries were very dark and overcooked, yet they remained hard. They also had a lot of black potato eyes and did not taste good at all. Additionally, the fries were only lukewarm. I was not impressed and will give them one more chance. If they do not improve, I will take my business elsewhere. The service for takeout was rated a 4, the food a 1, and the atmosphere a 3. The price per person for dinner was between £10-£20."

"We took advantage of the Barley Mow's canalside location to meet up with old friends as we were passing through on our narrowboat and they in their motorhome. We booked a table for the evening were glad we had as the place was busy with a mixture of locals and visitors eating and drinking. The atmosphere was lively and Richard and his staff were welcoming attentive throughout our meal. A good range of lagers and ales were on offer and the menu was wide, varied and well priced. Our meals were delicious with ample portions; we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend that you call in and experience for yourself what good things Richard and his staff are doing here."

"Visited for Sunday Lunch Service as a small group of friends Wow!! Venue: Ample parking, located near Lutterworth near easy to access. A beautiful restaurant with warm cozy Christmas decor Staff: So friendly and attentive! Not ever received service this perfect nor...as enjoyable The gentleman making the drinks at the bar was superb and so flexible, we were not keen to drink alcohol for lunch so he kindly adjusted the menus for cocktail into mocktails! Highly recommend all the creations, in particular the passionfruit and pineapple mocktail! Thank you so much! Each dish came with a brief introduction and Chef Alexander even personally came to the table at the end of the meal to discuss the dishes! Food: Beyond words- it is amazing! This place truly deserves Michelin Star status the menu consisted of the Romanian bread with truffle butter, the salmon roulade, the turkey (I only picked turkey as a homage to Christmas and usually have extremely low expectations as it is difficult to cook as it is often dry this dish was so tender and flavour some its mind blowing. Highly recommend! The dessert was pear pastry with coffee /tea- The whole experience was perfect (I hardly ever use that word I would highly recommend this establishment and would have no hesitation in returning in fact we plan to when it reopens in Jan for their Spring Menu Wishing the establishment and all its staff a very Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!"

"We were very disappointed with our recent experience at this restaurant. It used to be our go-to place for takeout, as we don't typically eat fast food. However, our last visit about 3 months ago was not up to par. We decided to give it another try tonight. The chips were good, the fish was tasty but a bit greasy, and the mushy peas were okay. Unfortunately, the curry sauce was terrible and nothing like what we had enjoyed before. The staff seemed disinterested, as we had to ask twice for a pickled onion that was eventually left out of our order. On a previous visit, we had requested a pickled onion and received a pickled egg instead. Overall, we may think twice about returning to this restaurant, even though it is conveniently close to our home."
