"Such a sad story, I'm afraid. My father died a few days ago and wished to have his wake at The Bull. We sent a message to the new owners Joe and Natalie 8 days ago asking them to come up with a menu and some ideas. They didn't respond other than to tell us it was £10 per head and that would be £1,500 in total. We were shocked at the astronomical price and asked what kind of food we would get. He told us he had never done a buffet before since taking over the pub from his dad. We decided that this isn't suitable so we asked if he would allow us to have The Chefs Kitchen to deal with the catering in order to provide the top quality food we want for anyone attending the wake and the answer was simply no, you have to buy our food. So following on from all this we have had no choice to change the venue. Bob visited this pub nearly every day for the last 15 to 20 years and this is how they treat him. Sheer desperation and daylight robbery. Honestly I can't put into words just how annoyed I am."

Sadly, it was freezing cold, although heating was on. Lady behind bar was lovely. Food was disappointing no Lemon for scampi and chips, ran out tartar sauce.

The sign says it's open, but it appears to be closed for good? I didn't realize the pub had shut down. I stopped by for a drink while walking my dog, but I was unfortunately disappointed.

Claimed their roast dinner was home made. Excluding the very over cooked veg, I am fairly certain the rest was all heated up and ready made (from frozen). I was quite disappointed, especially for the price. I wont be returning. View menu

Great place! My wife and I decided to take our dog for a walk and stopped by to grab a bite since the pub is dog-friendly. It’s a fantastic traditional pub with delicious food. The side of chips was huge, and the chips themselves were thick—definitely not a complaint! We had a wonderful experience and will definitely return.

I used to visit this restaurant frequently before it closed, so I was eager to return recently. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The cozy ambiance has been ruined by the placement of a pool table where a warm fire and inviting sofas used to be, leaving the place feeling lifeless. The food was subpar, with the fish being overcooked and dry, and the menu lacked inspiration while also being overpriced for what you receive. The acoustics in the bar felt empty, and the overall environment and decor resembled a cheap, outdated holiday cafe. On a positive note, the staff were wonderful.

"Visited this place for the first time last night and have to say the service was really really poor from the second we walked through the door. Our table was booked for 7.45pm we didn’t get seated till 8.20pm and when the young girl seated us there was no apologies for waiting and she came across very blunt..the soup starter was lovely but the bread was a let down it was like cake and the bread with that brown sauce on ruins the bread it tasted pretty nasty,my friend liked the bread but said that the sauce ruined it. The bread to me just wasn’t very nice I make home made bread myself and this was pretty poor it tasted nothing like homemade bread. For the main I had a medium rare steak the steak was very raw inside you may aswell have just gave me a cow mooing and only the sides had been touched it was cold in the middle!! and warm on the outside (I ate it as I was so hungry I had been working all day and came straight home dressed and out again) but it had not been cooked properly to how I like it, I felt funny after eating the steak. The service was really poor one lad said to us “have you finished with that” nearly everybody spoke so lazy there was no professionalism. There was only one person who stood out as I overheard him serve another table and he was very welcoming and professional he was wearing all black and was also working on the bar he had dark blond ish hair and spoke gentle,I hope your paying him well because his manners etc is impeccable and he was very polite to us when he served us upstairs at the bar."
