"We had dinner there recently with my husband's walking group. There is a good parking lot. The interior is simple and not describing, a large room, but with beautiful table linen and linen napkins. The menu is very extensive, mostly traditional Swiss dishes. Not too much for vegetarians. The service was friendly but very slow indeed. Consideirng this was a week night and bad weather, so nobody sat outside on the covered terrace, I hate to imagine how it would be if they were really busy. Everything about eating was okay, nothing bad, both burned, came as offered. Food is quite expensive, but this seems the norm for Switzerland."

Draussen sitzen nahe dem Waldrand nach einem Spaziergang und ein Eis geniessen die sind hier lecker. Bedienung freundlich.

Nettes Restaurant direkt am Wald gelegen, jedoch war der Service miserabel. Die Serviererinn war sehr unhöflich und frech. Essen war ok. Nie wieder!

Dieses Restaurant ist sehr einfach gehalten. Das Personal ist stets freundlich und auch für einen Spruch zu haben. Wir hatten noch nie lange Wartezeiten erlebt. Die Essensqualität kann sich durchaus sehen lassen, zumal das Essen den Geldbeutel nicht zu sehr belastet. Wir waren schon mehrmals hier und kommen immer wieder gerne

Mit Frau zum Essen eingekehrt. Vorweg einen gemischten Salat. War sehr gut. Dann Spaghetti mit Kalbfleisch und Kalbs-Cordon bleu natürlich mit Pommes. Durchaus zu empfehlen. Zum Dessert feine Pannacotta mit Waldberren. Bedienung war freundlich. Wirte Ehepaar z. T. etwas laut. Begrüssung sollte drin liegen. Einrichtung etwas älter aber sauber. Sanitäranlagen sauber und sogar mit offenem Fenster. Gartenrestaurant vorhanden. Grosser Parkplatz. Verdauungsspaziergang im nahe gelegenen Waldgebiet möglich oder Schiffe beim Schleusen in Birsfelden beobachten.

I was in the Hard restaurant a few times. They have a pleasant shaded terrace perfect for the warm summer days. There are parking spaces and the tram stops almost at the front door. I was only at noon and can't go to the... The foods are an appropriate normal price quality. Not exceptional, but okay. The biggest problem I experienced every time I was there is time to serve. Today the service was slower than usual and I was obliged to express my discontent. The waitress is reasonably apologetic and we were offered a coffee on the house. In summary, pretty good, but only if you have a lot of time.

"Cheval Blanc is the ultimate classic French fine dining experience in Switzerland. We came here to celebrate my birthday while in Switzerland looking for a 3 Michelin stars experience. Located in the historical Grand Hotel Les Trois Rios. The riverside setting is charming and romantic. You start by a welcome drink at the terrace looking at the Rhine greeted by suited , polite and professional staff. The head chef Peter Knogl came to say hi before we moved to the main dining room and service started. The decor and interior is classy retro French with high ceilings, arches, classic chandeliers, large windows and round tables with candles. Ambience is warm and intimate. Service was top notch and impeccable. Staff were all knowledgeable with refreshing attention to details. Cuisine was modern french with Mediterranean influences, flavors were complex and dynamic. Ingredients were chosen carefully and courses were presented beautifully. I liked all of my courses, highlights of the menu were the Sardine Macaron, Langoustine curry, Red Mullet filet and the French saddle of lamb with mediterranean flavors. Wine pairing was excellent and enhanced every course taste and flavor. Sommelier was very professional and knowledgeable yet intimidating a bit. The French Cheese selections from Maître Antony in Ferrette was aromatic, rich and satisfying, Maître Antony is one of the best in the world that many Michelin starred Chefs get their fine cheeses selection from. The night ended well with a couple of delightful desserts courses, few delectable bites and some velvety chocolate. Overall, we had an elevated fine dining experience that will bring me back if in Basel again."
