"We stayed at Huckleberry Cottage for two days while attending a wonderful family wedding.Thank you to Donna the wonderful wedding planner for her empathy and kindness.Also special thanks to Anne ,Mathew the barman and the outstanding chefs.Absolutely 5 in every way. Rooms: Our cottage was perfect-beautifully clean and equipped for all needs. Parking area just outside too.We enjoyed making use of the ‘wood burner effect’ gas fire too.We enjoyed playing board games and were pleased to see a whole drawer of DVD’s which we didn’t have time to use.High quality accessories such as hand creams and washing materials . 5 Food drinks: All the meals were absolutely delicious -so freshly prepared and beautifully presented too."

"This is a wonderful place to visit with friendly staff and amazing food at affordable prices. You will not be disappointed. However, on a recent visit, I was let down. The same dish I had enjoyed before, the mixed grill, looked different and had a smaller amount of food than before. Some meats were even missing. While the food was nice, I left still feeling hungry."

"I will not be going back here if I’m paid. Besides the fact they’ve taken almost all of the vegan options off, there’s a curry and fajita, which isn’t really a fajita it’s a reheated sloppy wrap! I know this because when asking about allergens or if I can take stuff out I was told it was all premade. I asked for a gluten free wrap as it was part of the option and was given a regular wrap and told about that after I had began eating it! I made my allergies very clear and the waitress tried her very best and was lovely but it seemed the kitchen staff really didn’t have a clue and something in my food set off a reaction even though I’d checked and there shouldn’t have been anything in especially since this meal was meant to be vegan (my main allergy is milk)... On top of this, the lady who came over to assist was extremely rude and insisted if I didn’t need to go to hospital it didn’t really make any difference and it wasn’t their fault so they wouldn’t do anything! Reluctantly she refunded me and said “here you go Madame if your money will make you feel better take it we obviously don’t cater to the likes of you” utterly appalled. "We called late in the day to make a reservation after seeing the positive reviews, and we were fortunate to get a table. The staff was fantastic and pleasant, providing quick service. The highlight of our experience was the amazing food. We ordered a medium rare steak, a mixed grill, and gammon with pineapple. All three dishes were beautifully presented on a hot skillet, sizzling hot. The meat, from the steak to the gammon, was juicy, expertly cooked, and of high quality. The grilled tomatoes were hot and juicy, just as I like them, and were accompanied by diced hot onions, garden peas, and the usual chips. We also ordered onion rings on the side. We were not disappointed and would definitely return when in the area. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others."

"I was looking forward to Oli Joe’s because, from the outside, it seemed to promise authentic Italian dining and a perfect place for our celebrations, but unfortunately, the character inside of the restaurant didn’t live up to my expectations at all and the atmosphere was rather flat and uninviting. A lovely, traditional menu without any of the usual surrounding charm you’d expect to go with it. The service and quality of food on offer both deserve to be matched with a bit more of a formal environment, in my opinion. We were able to choose our own table and felt like both the waiter and waitress were very welcoming and attentive. Our party was served quickly, and although some of the flavours lacked compared to other Italian restaurants I’ve tried (the garlic butter with the Pollo Kiev was a bit bland and the garlic mayonnaise tasted devoid of garlic), I was pleased that the effort was there with the presentation, and that the general ingredients were also of a good standard, which made for an enjoyable meal that‘s otherwise only let down by the setting. For a casual visit, it would have ticked most of the boxes— nice staff, decent food the prices aren’t bad — but I found the overall experience to be quite average for a special occasion and wouldn’t recommend it for that type of event, which is a shame because this place isn’t quite doing itself justice."
