"After a day out in Dundee we could not be bothered to go back home and cook. So whilst walking past, myself and my friend and out kids all thought we would see if there was a table available. The lovely gentleman that greeted us...when we first went into the restaurant showed us to a table for the four of us. The restaurant has lovely decor and elements of China which added to the ambience of the dining experience. We were given menus to look over and ordered drinks for ourselves and the kids. We ordered a mixed platter for a starter to share between the four of us. The mains we ordered were Chicken Chow Mein, Vegetable Chow Mein and two vegetable curries with rice. Our starters arrived promptly and the waitresses asked if we wanted any sauces or more drinks. Once we ate the starters the plates were cleared quickly and after a short wait our main dishes arrived. The dishes were fresh, full of flavour and a taste sensation! Absolutely delicious and generous portion sizes! It is the first time visiting the restaurant but will not be the last. The take away is just as good! Thank you for a lovely dinner....."

Very disappointed to find staff wearing no PPE! I thought it was a legal requirement In present circumstances. I and many more people I know will not be back.

very good food, both from the Chinese and from the fish shop menu. prices are reasonable, service is friendly. one of the best Chinese in perth. only do not allow them to open at lunch, nor is the restaurant ever open.

Friendly girl who took our order. Ready for collection when they said it would. The meal itself was very good and a very good portion. Would have no hesitation in recommending the Hon Kong. Will certainly be going back.

Really friendly service from the girl on the phone, were told 10-15 mins but it was a little longer than this but definitely worth the wait. Ordered salt and pepper chips which is my go to chinese order and was very surprised to find the...chips were chip shop style chips but it turns out they were amazing, an unexpected yet pleasant surprise! Curry sauce was amazing, not too spicy and fried rice was great too

we used tripadvisor to find this restaurant, as we had an imagination for Chinese food on a Monday evening in perth. I cannot explain why this is the top or second Chinese place in perth. that doesn't fit our experience here. The...restaurant part has been closed, although this has not been shown in any listings we found for the place, and we have been directed to the chip shop/guide the switch next door. this meant that there was no toilet available or space to wash our hands. we ordered a mixed sweet roasted rice and a chicken bean sauce and roasted rice. the “Great” were only swung and mais. the rice was quite fat. the chicken dish was not big and the rice was very fat. overall poor quali...

"This place has all the potential for a 5 star experience and you may well have it by going here! Unfortunately, we did not and it's worth explaining why. For context, we didn't stay overnight just had a meal in the restaurant one night and went to the beer garden another. Restaurant: Food was generally very good and prices reasonable. I'd especially recommend the tempura chard if it's on the menu! The setting of the restaurant is also lovely. However, we ended up waiting about an hour between starters and main meal 2 people . We were advised approx 40 minutes into the wait that one of the mains was no longer available and a substitute would be provided there was some gnocchi improvised from potato mash involved. Service were on top of this though and did remove this item from the bill. So in summary, good elements involved but a couple areas that could do with attention. Beer garden: We went along to the beer garden to catch the rugby world cup final. This was sadly quite a disappointing experience that ended up with the limited attendance clearing out before half time . In short, coverage only started after national anthems. No sound other than via headphones ?? , which didn't work ?! . Pizzas were pretty tasty but the cheese was stringy as a ball of yarn positive with no cutlery or tissues provided negative . And at c. £16 per pizza, felt a bit cheated by the whole experience. The rooms themselves look lovely and I'm sure on a summer's day if you're looking to enjoy some drinks and a bit of food in a lovely setting, the Taybank probably covers exactly what you're looking for! They also run a traditional music session in the main bar on a Thursday evening, which is absolutely worth checking out! But I'm afraid for us, it's unlikely we would rush back for anything other than that."
