"I know it was a Friday but there was really no excuse for the dreadful service, given there were plenty of staff on duty. We had a terrace booking but were assured we could go out on the balcony when a table came free didn't happen. 4 attempts to get out drinks order right, and even then the white wine was barely chilled and we had to ask for a cooler to get it to drinkable temperature. Meal itself was fine, though unusually for tapas it was all delivered together. But then trying to pay was a task in itself, eventually we had to go to the service area twice to get the bill and then go back there to actually pay it. Was very tempted to walk out since they did not seem keen to take our money"

We had a really good Sunday lunch. It is extremely popular here and the food is extremely good value. For veggies, they could do with a slightly better option is it is either vegetables or fake chicken which is not that attractive. But we will definitely return and the staff are all lovely

We'd been meaning to try the lunch menu for months but never found the time, which is a shame for having been today we realise how much we've been missing out. £15 for three excellent courses is an absolute bargain for a proper, quality meal. I had risotto, Tuscan chicken and sticky toffee pudding, while 3 my wife had the chili chicken, burger and cheesecake. We'll be back again soon.

We had a fantastic evening at this restaurant for our work Christmas event dinner. We booked for a party of 18 and enjoyed delicious food in the restaurant followed by a DJ and drinks upstairs in the lounge bar. The staff were attentive, welcoming, and friendly - a special mention to Giles and Lyndsay for their excellent customer service! I would highly recommend this place. Thank you.

Midweek lunch with family (son, d-in-law grandson). Quite an eclectic choice from Brunch (including full English), Steaks, Burgers, Fish through to Tapas. Sundays also has roasts. Three of us had Tapas which was very good and very generous portions for the price. Grandson enjoyed the full English! I would highly recommend Host but check out opening times. They are not open Monday or Tuesday. View menu

I celebrated my birthday on Sunday with my family by trying the Sunday Roast at Host for the first time. It was fantastic - we all ordered the beef, which was incredibly tender, and the sides were perfect. We even got an extra side of cauliflower cheese, which my dad declared was the best he's ever had - and he's 84, so he's had quite a few! I can't wait to go back for another delicious meal.

Went for a 4pm Sunday lunch and could not believe how good it was. I ordered a medley of roasts and my friend ordered a chicken roast and couldn’t believe how good our meals were, food plentiful and hot and service excellent especially Elodie and Harriet who were outstanding waiter’s throughout our lunch. The menu prices very reasonable and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. We will be coming back very soon.

I had a great experience at host when I visited with my best friend, great cocktail menu music and atmosphere. The staff particularly Tom and a lady called Brianna went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and looked after The music is great had me dancing and having a great time all night the dj has some great music mixes too suit everyone. He's kind professional and likes to make sure everyone is happy and having a good time. I love host and have returned since and will continue to do so especially in the summer View menu

Opens the doors at 6pm, booked and filled up quickly after 630pm Friday night away from the little one, never been to Host, but impressed with their menu options for me. Everything is made fresh, drinks interestingly need to be made upstairs most of the time and bought down, hardworking staff! The ambience is great and overall experience (fake fireplace, lighting, general vibe) is chilled. Can imagine it getting rowdy as the night draws on. Top tip is go for the belly pork, that looked amazing, my wife has it and I was envious.

I had the most delicious Sunday roast I've had in a long time at this restaurant. I am very particular when it comes to eating out for Sunday lunch as it is usually disappointing. However, today's meal was truly delicious. The vegetables and potatoes were great, and the meat was perfectly cooked. We ordered the meat medley and all three types of meat were fantastic. The service from George and the rest of the team was excellent and they were all very welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you to Host for a wonderful afternoon, we will definitely be back.

"I recently moved from Stanstead Abbotts, a beautiful little village in the valley of the river Lea. At the end of the high street is this quaint little Thai restaurant that I used to walk by and always said to myself Before I leave this village, I will book a table and have a meal So said so done. On the afternoon of my move, I asked if they had a table available (on the spot) which they did not hesitate to give me. The restaurant has 2 sections, the front is the largest. I was given a table at the back, as I 'm assuming the other tables were reserved. The menu is vast, bright and colourful, with a touch of personal personality and the price points were within my budget, plus I was giving myself a treat. I ordered 4 dishes: 1. Pad Thai chicken Ginger dish, which I thought came with noodles, but didn 't 2. Crispy sweet and sour beef 3. Thai Green curry 4. Coconut rice This was accompanied by a medium size glass of Lemonade with a slice of Lemon for garnish. The Presentation was nicely served on white plates which made the colours of the food stand out. I had two waitresses, MiMi looked after me the most and frequently asked if all was well as I ate. I was quite hungry, so she said no rush. The decore in the back of the restaurant was embellished with potted plants, hanging from the ceiling with, faux red leather benched seating and whitewashed brick walls. Where I sat (at the back) felt slightly cut off from the main hub of the restaurant, which did affect my overall experience, albeit I was grateful to be given a table, at such short notice, so I reframed that circumstance. I could hear chatter in the busy kitchen, as takeaway orders, were going out, as well as seated reservations. BACK TO THE FOOD: All dishes were served hot and well presented. My Thai curry was in a bowl, that almost tipped over, not sure if that was my haste or the design of the bowl. This tasted exquisite. The flavours bounced around my pallet and the chicken was so succulent and morrish with a touch of heat! As I stated earlier, from the illustration on the menu I ordered Pad Thai, which I assumed was a noodle dish, yet when it arrived it was just chicken and ginger in a sauce. There must have been a miscommunication when I was making my order...Never mind, I had enough in front of me and wondered if my eyes were too big for my belly ! The crispy beef was OK, a little chewy! and the coconut rice was a delight. All in all, I was full and the meal satisfied my hunger. In reflection, if I was to order all over again, I would have ordered x2 THAI GREEN CURRY and I would have been happy, The bill was brought to my table promptly, after I asked for it in a nice golden ornate-looking bowl, accompanied by two pearl mints (nice touch) Now for the hard part.. The Bill I was pleasantly surprised to pay £38.35, that afternoon, excluding a service charge (not sure if that was because I was eating alone or what) If I were to give my whole experience of dining at Khunnai Thai Cuisine a mark out of Ten, I would grade it 7/10. Room for improvement: The decore in the back part of the restaurant, maybe some soft Thai music, Change the colour of the deep red Faux leather seating to something more tropical looking, Maybe an extension for outside dining, at the back (during summer) and a little less NaCl. Comments are given all in goodwill. Thank you for a tasty meal. I would definitely eat at Kuhnnai Thai Cuisine and bring my friends or family along...Next time I will book a table for the front of the restaurant, which appeared to be a more open-plan layout with a buzzing atmosphere."
