"The sun is shining, the beautiful bells of St. Peter 's next door are ringing just a gorgeous scene when we ate here. I knocked off one star, because even though the food is really good, it 's not as good as other restaurants in these small Rhineland Palatinate towns. The sauces are where it wasn 't the equal to other restaurants. That being said, the food is really good. Stay away from the Bolognese Schnitzel, sauce not very good. Likewise, do not get pizza here, basically a cracker with tons of onion. On the other hand the dish called Haxenpfanne pig knuckle for 12,90 € oh my word!! Get this delicious dinner, the kraut the this tender juicy meat was to die for. All the other schnitzel dishes were great. All entrees were between 9€ and 15€ desserts were 9 €, add the dreaded 19% tax on all restaurant eating and this bill went pretty high. I would definitely go back though, so it was worth it. Service was kind and efficient."

Right next to the cathedral decent food and decent prices I had the Schinderhannes Plate which was roast pork and sides. Very good for 10 Euro.

We tried about 5 restaurants in the area, and this had the rude staff and attitude. There are two shady looking employees who do not welcome when you board. There was a problem with our food and they could not take responsibility for their mistakes. It's always someone else's fault type of attitude.

we have chosen this in the busy small tourist town and were not disappointed by eating and service. the place can be busy and cars are constantly driving a few centimeters away from them, but if they sit down and watch a few people and enjoy the great eating, this is the right place, even the only restaurant we could find serving the icy bone. .

we had two delicious meals outside. good service, good food, reasonable prices. pity that the owner (?) when we showed up one evening before 20 o'clock, all the tables were cleared away. asked him if he would close and he replied: “Yes, I waited and nobody comes, so I close.” explained that we had hoped to eat there, but he continued to clean the tables away.

Stopped off in Bacharach for a wander and a lunch break. The town atypical old German. There were numerous eateries to choose from most of which offered full meals. Only wanting a snack coffee and a cake this place fitted the bill. The cake and the Goulash , not together, were very good. Service was fine but I felt the price of a small bottle of Cola was pricey

The service left quite a bit to be desired. We did not feel welcomed at all due to the snobbish server who apparently didn't expect tourists ? to visit. My husband and I were well dressed and friendly so there was no reason for this man to look down his noses at us. Sad because this was the ONLY experience we had in all of our three days in Bacharach that was less than savory. The chocolate cake was good though, there was that...

we decided to eat here, as there were sitting outdoors and many of the other restaurants in bacharach are expensive. the menu is quite limited, although there is a mix of pizzas and German food (which is usually a worrying sign!). the carving was very average and the tomato soup was hardly warm. the ice was very easy for the price. the waitress looked a little murky. I understand she couldn't get much English, but a smile would make a big difference!

we spent 3 nights in the hcbs and traveled ende juni the Rhine area. we were in the house, 2nd floor, in the heart of bacharach. we had to park our car rental 10 minutes to foot the hill up in the next building of the hotel, but that was the only logistic problem and not a big thing, as we used the trains and boats to move us. the situation could not be better. our room was very comfortable and well equipped, although it was designed on a shrively style that would be expected in a historic building. even had a small balcony to enjoy. owners were great, friendly and helpful, could not have asked for more. I can only recommend the hcbs. the breakfast was typical European food ... brot, sliced,...
