"Took my student daughter here as a special treat to go somewhere that students can't afford! BIG disappointment. Despite being a Friday lunchtime restaurant was almost empy and so no real atmosphere to speak of. Placed at a table in the middle of the restaurant and would probably have felt more cozy on the side. Didn't ask to be moved as assumed the other tables would fill up they didn't. The service was fine, albeit I had to look around a few times to ask for things.......lack of people meant lack of waiters I think. The food pork belly was a real disappointment. I know pork is fatty, but usually belly is cooked in such a way that it falls apart and any fat has dropped off. This was not well cooked at all and although I am not a fussy eater I couldn't finish it. I cannot remember what we had as starters and dessert, but all in all for the price it was very disappointing. I think I will go where the students go next time....obviously better value for money! I will not be returning."

Lovely candlelit dining room. Professional service. Top quality French cuisine. Bit pricey if you take advantage of their wine menu.

Du Vin is one of my favourite places to eat in Bristol Who doesn't love classic French food with a fantastic sommelier and bar staff.

If you are ever staying in Bristol I fully recommend you stay at least one night in this hotel and stay in a big Loft Chapel facing suite. Each room inside View menu

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The food was exceptional. Despite not being able to locate my reservation made through OpenTable, they were able to accommodate us. It was a special celebration for me, so I was extremely thankful for their kindness.

Pros Staff: Great Wine: the only good point, great selection of wines. Cons Food: We had Onglet and Vongole pasta, it wasn't sophisticated at all and poor taste. Venue: The walls are dirty with food stains...and there is barely enough light. I'd recommend a glass at the bar instead of the restaurant.

The resataurant and meal were what i jave cpme to expect from Hotel di Vin. Geat food, excellence service in a wonderful setting. This place is perfectly suited to couples dining; probably less so for groups. Perhaps that suggestion is selfish of me as it will spoil the ambiance and setting for couples. View menu

When we arrived at Hotel du Vin Bistro, our reservation made through OpenTable did not go through, so we did not have a table despite booking over a week in advance. However, the staff were helpful and were able to find us a table. They were pleasant and accommodating, and the restaurant had a lovely setting. Unfortunately, the food was only mediocre. Despite our anticipation for the meal, we were all ultimately disappointed.

The service at this restaurant was fantastic. We celebrated two birthdays and the servers took excellent care of us. They presented the birthday guests with a small cake adorned with "happy birthday" written in chocolate and a glass of champagne, which made them feel special. The staff lit our candles and brought out the birthday cakes. Unfortunately, we were disappointed that there were no scotch eggs available, which happen to be my husband's favorite and we had seen them at another Hotel du Vin in Clifton. The only downside was that we were seated near the fire exit doors. Overall, everything else was fantastic. Thank you.

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
