"Right from first contacting the Events team they were so helpful and really understood what we wanted our meal and evening to be like. We were very impressed with the style of the hotel which is just so us. During the evening the staff were so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We were so impressed that we have booked with them for next Christmas as well! Thank you so much Sophia and Karolina and all the team"

Hotel du Vin, Tunbridge Wells. Food very good however, 40 minutes inbetween starter and main course too long. Staff very attentive to start but it took 5-6 mins to get someones attention to get the bill.

hotel du vin, tunbridge wells. good food with very good service. a little surprised that a glass white wine in the bar costs £ 12.50, I know it was classified as a large glass, but it was not so big! expect them to pay about £ 65 per head for a 3 curs lunch with wine.

hotel du vin is a beautiful building in the interior and exterior. had a relaxing drink in the lounge before dinner, although the service was slow. all four of us enjoyed our meal and restaurant service, but my partner and I had to send back our filet steaks as they were moderate and not moderate. the restaurant removed the steaks from the bill so much with the overall experience.

Nice birthday lunch at Hotel du Vin Bistro. The food was very good and the service impeccable. A word of caution. The drinks here are really expesive. We had fresh orange juice and soda which cost more than wine would have. I dread to think how much wine would have added to the bill. Bearing this in mind, it's a very nice venue and I would recommend but watch out for the drinks prices!

"Firstly I would like to say that this restaurant has just been refurbished, and it didn’t feel like an Italian restaurant, more like a cafe at the beach somewhere! It felt very sparse and most Italian restaurants I e been to have proper tablecloths on the table but these were plastic and I noticed one table it was tapped up underneath, in my opinion it needs to be made more warmly and have more of a family feel. The food was really nice, although I would advise anyone to make sure they double check their order as I chose chicken in a sauce really nice which came with vegetables but I also asked for a separate portion of potatoes, when it arrived I just had chicken with a few cut up potatoes and a very very small garnish of salad ! I mentioned this to the waitress who had taken our order and she said I know but the chef had given you extra salad !! Sorry but salad is not vegetables , it clearly said on the menu it came with vegetables. Having said about the above issue, the meals we all had were nice and the staff gave us a very warm welcome and because of the blip they said we could have a free pudding…..not sure if we all did or it was just mine but I never see the bill as we were treated to this. To finish the evening off we were given a lovely limoncello shot. We would definitely go back. Thankyou for a lovely evening in your restaurant"

"Popped in for a late lunch with my wife and sat in the garden in the sunshine. Friendly bar staff. Both had the mussels starters which were ok and the bread was nice. My wife had the surf and turf main, priced at £40, which...surely would deliver at that price. Sadly not. The lobster was ok but the steak, cooked rare as requested, was grey, under seasoned and tasteless. She didn't finish it and didn't even bother asking for a doggy bag. She felt it was the worst steak she had ever eaten. I went for the chicken fajitas which arrived sizzling on a platter. The chicken was dry, massively under seasoned and the red peppers and onions weren't cooked properly. The salad I didn't even touch as it was so painfully boring to look at. My three tortillas were like cardboard and I ate just half of one and then gave up. Chips were only randomly cooked through so we both left most of those also. We gave feedback to the waitress when she cleared the table and went to pay. Whilst paying at the bar the licensee went behind the bar without acknowledging us in the slightest and told the lady taking our payment to take the fajitas off the bill. No apology; not even the time of day was paid to us. He even said to her tell them the fajitas have been taken off the bill'...why on earth he couldn't tell us directly is beyond me! It was rude beyond belief. We paid and left. Over the years we have been to many carvers, seafood evenings and meals out with family and friends at The Black Horse. I will never step through the door again and waste my money. I will do my utmost to make sure that anyone who asks why will learn the truth. What a dreadful experience!"
