"We were delighted to be able to secure a booking at this busy restaurant, as we had heard good reports and we were not disappointed. We were given a warm welcome and when presented with the specials menu we were spoilt for choice. The food was very well presented and very tasty too two of us chose chicken in pancetta and one the duck with beetroot, both dishes were beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The pulled chicken tarragon balls were delicious and would make a great bar snack or part of a tapas selection. There were three of us dining so we tried all three deserts and found it hard to choose our favourite but the salted caramel and dark chocolate cup won in the end. Great food, good atmosphere we'll definitely be back well done ..!!"

"Bad experience here on Sunday 9 May 2021. At the moment, COVID restrictions mean outdoor dining only. This pub has a lovely covered outdoor patio and we wanted to make sure we could get an evening meal under the current restrictions.I called at the pub at 1pm, and was told food was being served until 6.45pm. There was no option to book a table but I was told it would be unlikely to be full. We returned at 5pm and tables were free perfect. The server took a drink order and asked us to choose a table on the patio. When she brought our drinks, I asked for the menu only to be told they had stopped serving food at 3pm — only two hours after I had been at the place to ask if they were open.As it was a Sunday at 5pm, the supermarkets were closed. With few places serving food because of the restrictions, we were left with no option but the Co op.The server was apologetic and offered us crisps or peanuts (not exactly a substitute for an evening meal) but it was just a bad experience. We ended up paying for drinks for no real reason, and then were left without an option to eat."

"Popped in for early evening food. It was very busy and had a lovely atmosphere. I ordered duo Korean chicken which was delicious, however it was served minus the kimchi and pickled cucumber ribbons. When eventually I managed to catch someone to ask where they were I was told there hadn't been a delivery. I know this happens but should be told on ordering. Very disappointing. My husband had wild boar sausage and mash. Again beautiful but only 2 sausages and a little mash for £14.99 and extra cost if you wanted to add veg!!!. Totally overpriced ."

"However, while we were eating, she abruptly turned off the lights and closed the windows, even though it was still very warm and uncomfortable. It felt incredibly rude, as it seemed she was eager to leave for the day. We ended up leaving before the tearoom officially closed. The good food was overshadowed by the staff member's offensive behavior. I would suggest she consider a job that she enjoys, possibly one that doesn’t involve dealing with customers, or perhaps take a course in customer service to learn some basic manners. - Jonathan"
