"After a walk around Portstewart we decided to grab a bite to eat and popped into Jam Jar. We placed our order at the serving station and took our table. Our teas arrived promptly as soon as we got seated and we awaited our food order. Other diners arrived after us and took their seats. Whilst we waited for our food other diners who arrived after us were receiving their orders in fact everyone who arrived after us had been served. I called the waitress and asked if there was any sign of our food. This waitress was the person who took our order in the first place a sandwich and a toasties, she advised us that she 'd check our order after a few minutes she came back and asked us what our order was? Having been sitting 20 minutes or more I advised her that I 'd like to cancel my order, the order that this particular waitress had wrote down and took from us on arrival. I requested a refund which was given less the cost of a pot of tea. When I queried the refund amount the assistant said oh, do you want a full refund the tea as well ? Yes I advised her that the teas we ordered with our sandwiches was still sitting on the table. The place is very cosy and spotlessly clean which I couldn 't fault. The service we received was very, very poor. Leaving us that we had to go elsewhere."

I’m a bit conflicted in this review. This is by far the best place for coffee and tray bakes in PS. But it has limited seating. So please don’t visit when I’m coming pop up to their other place on the Prom (Awaken, though it’s not as good).

We had a lovely breakfast. My daughter had a ham and cheese toasties with orange juice and I had scrambled egg, toast, bacon and beans with a pot of tea. The food was well presented and the staff were good. They were efficient and friendly. Reasonable prices and descent size portions made this a very reasonable meal.

I stopped by this restaurant while on vacation in Northern Ireland. I was tired of having Ulster fry and decided to try something different. The staff, although young, were very friendly. Despite there being 7 of us, they were able to accommodate us. We all enjoyed our meals from the menu. I even had tea and a scone for the first time in years. There are many cafes in town, but we were satisfied with our experience here.

I have been stopping by the Jam Jar frequently over the years when visiting the North Coast. I recently purchased 4 sausage rolls, 2 scones, and 1 banoffee pastry for takeaway, which came to £19.25. I felt that we were charged too much for the items. The sausage rolls were not very good and the scones were just average. Paying £3.00 for a takeaway sausage roll seemed excessive to me. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

Came in February, and gave a great review, about the Jam Jar, but was totally disappointed on my latest visit, the display showing the Jam Jars wares were well below from what I remember and shown in their photos, I sent my wife in for another fantastic Beef sausage roll, as I thought, but what she had bought when we got back home was a disaster!! Roughly 3 inchs long, Inch half broad, with minimal meat, and rock hard pastry, Totally disappointed and at a price of £3-00!!!! Per Sausage Roll Serious!!! Should have gone to the local Spar Sorry, but I'll have to give you a wave next time View menu

On a very of the cuff visit to Portstewart, I called at the JamJar for 2 Latte, seen the selection of sausage rolls on offer and was taken back, not only by the selection! but the fact that the pastry was minimal around the meat allowing you to enjoy the full flavour, of whatever sausage roll you picked, and there was an excellent selection, of other foods besides, I picked the beef and was not disappointed by the pastry or the meat inside, absolutely first class, as you know sausage rolls are a hit or miss, next to no sausage covered in loads of pastry, or totally Bland, well to sum up this!! S/Rolls Amazing!!! Latte was fantastic, considering I usually have sugar with mine (but forgot to p...

While on a short trip to the area, my partner fell ill and we visited a nearby chemist for medication. We then searched for a shop to get water but were unsuccessful. I suggested we stop at JamJar and ask for a cup of water to take the tablets. The assistant informed us that they would have to charge 75p for the cup or we could buy a bottle for £1.70. Finding this price excessive, my partner decided to just swallow the tablets as they were. The following day, I returned to the store to speak to the manager (who was the same employee from the previous day) about how disappointed I was with their response. The manager defended their actions, showing no remorse and stating they were not allowed...

"Visited lost Found in Portstewart last Friday afternoon for some lunch. Checked the outdoor menu which stated food served until 3.30pm. Went ahead on inside. Started to briefly read the menu at the till as aware from previous visits that you order on arrival yourself at the counter. Was told by the female counter staff that we had 8 minutes to place our order and to take the menus to the table. We did this. Then when we said excuse me to the same member of staff, from our table, that we’d like to order, we were told we had to come back to the till. This made no sense whatsoever. From the moment we stepped in and were told that we had 8 minutes to order should have been the red flag I guess. Friday afternoon, not long till closing, they just didn’t want to be bothered prepping two rounds of food, The two members of staff in the premises had the worst attitude and no ounce of personality to be in the role that they are in. Every thing seemed to be a complete bother. May I also add, the food was very skimp, re portion sizes plus they seem to care more about the presentation than the food itself re the logo branded paper underneath the food. Try attempting to cut sourdough bread on this, not easy unless you want a mouthful of paper. Then when it comes to hot drinks, no sugar or milk provided. Yet again had to approach the till and ask for these to be provided with milk in a paper cup yet another couple had a glass jug of milk on their table (less dishes to wash I guess) and no white sugar at all, had to make do with brown sugar for tea. When asked for refills of hot water we were given a half full glass of this and then when asked for it to be filled up, yet again a whole botheration. Oh and don’t even get me started on the toilet facilities. Dingy to say the least. The premises in portstewart should never have reopened when it did as Lost and Found, previous owner/cafe was far more superior in all ways. Will not be back"
