"Just got back from KTT tearoom. So disappointed!! We have wanted to visit for a long time but have never managed to get there until today. Not sure we will be returning! Initially it was great! Lovely decor and a lovely vibe as it was lively, even though it was only half full. The waitress took our order immediately and was friendly. Then it all went downhill. We waited and waited for our food and then my meal came out and then my husband’s toast which went with his meal (the toast was already cold). Then nothing else arrived! So my husband said to eat mine so it didn’t go cold. So I ate my entire meal and his still didn’t arrive! We weren’t the only ones that this happened to! There was another table where the same thing was happening. I finished my meal and then my husband’s meal appeared! The poor waitress looked mortified! I felt so sorry for her! Clearly the kitchen were too slow and not organised as meals were randomly coming out! If I go out to eat with my husband, then I expect to eat at the same time!! Someone needs to sort the kitchen service out as it is slow and haphazard!! The poor waitress had to placate the customers waiting and it clearly wasn’t her fault! It was such a shame as the food was ok, but the kitchen service appalling! Not sure we will return!"

Small room at the side of a private house (garage conversion? and tacked on to the back of a quaint wool shop. Very little parking. Outside toilet. Time-warp shabby-chic furniture and decor (more shabby than chic and like stepping back in time. Seems to be popular with local knitting groups and elderly people.

Had a lovely time there last week as part of a themed birthday party. Us adults were made to feel welcome and the food was lovely and the staff were very good with the sometimes noisy kids, which left the adults to chat and just relax (if you can at a party of 10). Left with free cupcakes so everyone was happy!

In the process of buying in the wool shop, noticed the tearoom at the back. Thinking we would have a modest soup for lunch, were offered a menu that far exceeded our expectations. Not sure what to expect I ordered Eggs Royale and my wife Jacket potato with bacon, Brie and cranberry filling, both came with salad. What a treat! View menu

This was our first visit and didn't really know what to expect. Once you walk through the wool shop there is a lovely quaint tea room. We went for breakfast and the food was hot and very tasty. Our children had the mini breakfast which was just the right size with a glass of milk. Will definitely visit again but maybe next time for cake!

Ten of us went here for lunch today. As there were 10 of us we let them know before. Very nice that they had set up tables for us. Staff were friendly welcoming. Took orders and explained about not being able to bring out all at one. Absolutely happy with this and the food was lovely. Milkshakes were all enjoyed. Well done for a great little quirky tea room off the beaten track.

We are regular visitors to Kitty's, and have never been disappointed. The staff are super-friendly, food is fairly priced, and always good quality. Decor is a little quirky, which adds character. The owner bakes all her own cakes, and always has a generous selection.Portions are generous, ambience is good. Being at the back of the wool shop hides this gem away, but it's well worth finding. Treat yourself !What's not to like !! View menu

Had a fantastic afternoon tea Baby Shower for my daughter yesterday and it exceeded our expectations. The table and room were decorated beautifully with table accessories, baby balloons and even a thoughtful gift for the mum to be! And the food was gorgeous, everything was homemade and delicious and the uneaten cakes (we had so much food) were boxed up for us to take away. I definitely recommend Kitty’s for a special tea party

First time back at Kitty's since re-opening and great to see the care and attention which has gone into re-opening with social distancing and safety in mind. Track and trace system in place, masks throughout, and plenty of space.I called and booked a table for lunch with my 2 year old daughter which we both enjoyed. Generous portions of home made food, great coffee, cake to finish and a couple of amazing looking takeaway cheesecake pots for the road! The menu looks excellent and we'll be making this a regular lunch and weekend breakfast spot.

"Our first visit. We cannot praise thank The Wellie highly enough. What a find! Peacefully rural on a quiet road to the south of Baughurst. A classic, pretty country pub, now converted to an excellent restaurant, with three rooms. What strikes you first is how immaculate The Wellie is, inside and out. The large garden is a delight. Masses of dahlias and all manner of bushes and plants. Birds, birds and more birds. Do check out the vegetable garden beyond the rear car park. You then walk inside to the warmest of relaxed welcomes from the owners, Simon and Jason, and manager, Sheila, and their lovely young helpers. Nothing is too much trouble. The first thing you’ll spot is the array of fruit, veg salad for sale by the pub bar – the Wellie Deli. Along with home made jams, chutneys, quiches, etc. I then spotted the two hand pumps! Longdog Golden Poacher Basingstoke Pride. The seating inside is for diners every session is a sell out! But I was very happy to sup several excellent pints of well kept draught Basingstoke Pride in the garden – until I discovered their Negronis! Truly the best this side of Kwant (Piccadilly). We’d opted for the room in the pub: the Apartment. Two rooms on the first floor, knocked through. Enormous comfy bed, large rainfall shower, sofa, mini bar – two TVs! Free milk homemade shortbread. One of the discoveries we made here is the fabulous tea they serve from Prince Sons. As you can tell by now, we were very happy with our first stay at The Wellie… and then we went down for dinner! A truly exceptional menu from Jason’s kitchen, which changes each evening. Highlights were the scallops wrapped in pancetta, the pollack, the lamb pot pie, the twice baked cheese souffle, the NY cheesecake, the rhubarb ice cream, the treacle tart... All so fresh, tasty, and mainly from their garden. What we loved most was it was relaxed but fine dining without the tiny portions. The Full English breakfast the next morning was equally tasty. All in all, we did not want to go home! Thank you Simon, Jason Sheila. We will be back, soon."
