"Out for a meal after a day on the slopes, came across L'Arbre de Vie slightly off the main street. Got a table for four without a booking (Monday night) although it was full. Food was great - between us we had cod, tagine and prawns. A really nice mix for a French restaurant - Raclette and Fondue still available but other choices too if you are having a cheese overload. Profiteroles for dessert were stunningly good - just make sure you've had a hard day on the skis to burn off the calories! The tree in the centre is a wonderful centerpiece and adds to the generally quirky vibe. Overall a lovely dinner, price was pretty standard for the resort. Would definitely go again"

Great food, French Morracan in Val d'isere. What a break from the usual mountain Fayre. Absolutely.

Great departure from typical French cuisine in the alps. Not the biggest menu but everything on it was delicious. Decent wine llst and friendly staff. Book in advance especially if it is Chalet host night off!

Simple but original food of very good quality and good value for money in this expensive resort. I enjoyed a revisited version of the hamburger by the Chef. Only negative was that when the place got full the poor young lady had difficulty to cope with all the customers. Go early!

We were a big table of 16 and the restaurant was very courteous, although some of our party were very loud. Service was punctual, there was a good selection of different foods on the menu to please everyone and it was not too expensive. It is a small restaurant and there was only a small toilet. Otherwise we had a nice meal there.

With a group of 4 polite Canadians, 2 of whom are fully bilingual, we got horribly ignorant service. Nothing made sense. We were willfully ignored. The food was excellent, so we enjoyed and have full bellies, but we have no idea why or how we got repeatedly ignored. None of us would ever go back, the punishment was not worth the delicious food.

Quite small and very popular book a few days ahead. Charming staff and nice ambience. Much better than its unprepossessing location in a little mall would suggest. I had an excellent Veloute de la Foret, e15 but worth it, and then the Entrecote Simmental...which was perfectly cooked. All the traditional Savoyarde dishes are available too Fondues, Raclette etc.

We had a nice meal at l'Arbre. The place is on the small side, so I'd recommend a reservation. The menu has some nice options. Specifically, I really enjoyed the lamb tagine and would highly recommend that dish. The service was a bit slow, but friendly. Can't say that I loved the decor, but it didn't detract from the experience either. It's definitely a good option for a dinner out at Val.

Fantastic! As a vegetarian I struggle for food on holiday in France, but this place was a wonderful exception. Everything was great, even their humble "burger vege" was awesome (think falafel, caramelised onions, minty yoghurt etc) The best meal out we had in the week. The meat dishes looked equally good. Great atmosphere, decor etc and friendly staff. Prices were fine for the region and very good value for money. Do book in advance as it fills up VERY quickly.

Beautiful small place in Val Disere only at the XI Bar! The restaurant managed to squeeze us as a last minute and even came to meet us when we lost finding it! The atmosphere blossoms in the restaurant with...people laugh and enjoy the brilliant food/drink. It seemed like the fondue/raklettes were a favorite here, but we chose the burger... Oh, my word, incredible! Make sure you have an appetite, the food is plentiful and the standard exceeds expectations. A beautiful little place to which I do not hesitate when I return!
