"Other restaurants in bocca might have a more elegant dining area, waiters with white shirts, bigger wine glasses and other things commonly associated with fine dining. However when it comes down to perfectly prepared Italian dishes, sometimes with a well imagined twist, and the surprising presentation, this restaurant was my favourite for the week. Not just that, the host also went an extra mile for us. Unsure whether they did fried potatoes she told us she would ask about it, and we got a plate of thinly sliced fried potatoes cuts, just thick enough not to be called chips. Delicious. The other plates were exquisite from the beginning to the end. Linguine with calamari and olives, cooked shrimp in a crusty envelope with yogurt sauce, shellfish... As mentioned, this place does not try to conjure up the classic run of the mill fine restaurant atmosphere. But you can feel the love and care of the owners of this boutique hotel in the decoration."

Very nice sea food, the risotto with crab was delicious and also polenta with tuna and great mushrooms. Also a cosy and creative ambience, welcoming staff. Thanks for the great evening!

The host is there for a reason. Let them guide you through the night and suggested a menu. This is a fish affair. Simple and delicate with good balance of taste. I had the antipasti choices. It was very good I enjoy it. Vermentino wine was a good choice. Price is right for the quality. Next time I will try the fish barbeque.

Had dinner here twice during a nine day stay in Bocca di Magra (June 27 July 6). First occasion was their Seafood buffet, which is served every Friday. Outstanding buffet with antipasti and contorni. Grilled seafood were served at the tables, which ment that all guests got from everything and plenty. For each course, at least one second serve was offered. My second dinner I tried a taste menu, which was even better than the buffet. I especially want to mention Chef Alberto and his wife Maria, which both made everything they could to make the guests comfortable and satisfied.

Our friend recommended us that place and it was worth of visit. To start we took antipastos of squid and mashed potatoes. Then we got our regal; spaghetti alla vongole!!! It was just perfect. Only disappointment was that we asked big portions as a main course and we got small starter plates. I know that italians are used to eat pasta as a starter... we scandinavians no ; . Anyway, we enjoyed our place in a sun, nice view towards marina and Carrara marble mountains I was chocked that they also proposed at Antipasteria Setti Archi to our kids to have some polpettini and I accepted it expecting to have some meatballs. Finally kids got chicken nuggets and french fries. Only one thing that I was...
