"this is the best place we have eaten in la clusaz by far. we have read good reviews about it before we came to la clusaz and went there on the first day and several times until the end of our holiday. laurant, the...owner who is so professional and friendly, makes the best kebab (from chicken) in a rap or in brot, both are with homemade ingredients and trust me, I am medium east, who knows to recognize a good kebab meal. it is spicy in the exact amount, very tasteful and not heavy, they can have it with several sauces (it is great with andalouse). also there are very good burger, pizzas (the teig is made to house) with many extras and nuggets for the children. Moreover, there are delicious foods at the site with a lot of traditional foods such as tartiflette and other dishes with the local cheese, baked and excellent coffee on the morning. the prices are good value for money. one more thing. please don't judge them a book on the cover and don't let them be fooled by the unbeautiful view of the place, it's great there, just sit on the hockey and eat the delicious food and send them respectfully from the family tel aviv."

View menu

I ordered a simple burger for my son and gave only one bungalow and the burger. it came in the sose debris, so I asked to remove it. lady with a very acidic face took it back and pointed out that I only took the burger. the bungalow was not clear enough, but bregrudgingly replaced. however, added unordered extras to try to recouple the cost of the replaced burger. by the way, I live in front of the place, so I know that my French was not responsible!

"My wife and I visited La Maison des Bois for lunch during a skiing trip to La Clusaz, our expectations were very high but the experience exceeded our expectations! We had the 10 course lunch menu which come at EUR 295 pp with wine pairings, Yes its quite steep but in our opinion worth every EUR (and you can probably skip dinner like we did after this 4½ hour fabulous lunch!) All courses tasteful and very different in style, I would name the trout caviar with an iced cream of herbes as the most outstanding together with "a walk in the woods" commented by Marc Veyrat with our eyes closed ...! Be careful to save some appetite for your own selection of mostly local homemade savoir cheeses from the extensive cheese table and outstanding deserts! Wine parings matched the food well, both whites and the red very good locally grown wines, we liked especially the red 2006 vintage, that reminded me of Rhone - spec. the Grenache grape. The wine list gives you all the possibilities you could wish for in selecting great French wines for an extraordinaire meal including DRC Romanée- Conti, Ch. Petrus and ... Make sure to peek through the glass in the floor when having appetizers on the ground floor ... ... This is truly an amazing restaurant like no one else we have visited, with tasteful innovative food, a nice view to the slopes at Manigod and an overall overwhelming experience, orchestrated by Marc Veyrat and his team."

"Found this little place having walked away from one of those dreadful restaurants, where you arrive and the place is empty, and the snotty receptionist asks 'do you have a reservation? ' Instant put off in this day and age. So we walked. I treated a friend to supper, as she is going through a tough time, and it was the perfect choice. One tip, don 't be seduced by the first photo with the fire. We actually didn 't dress as warmly as we might have because we thought a fire in a small restaurant would be too hot. There isn 't one. But it is still lovely. Just dress with layers. The food menu is not large but it is really interesting and I have to say the food was fresh and a mixture of healthy, modern and delicious. The wine menu is also very good with something for everyone. The service was brilliant and the chap was so lovely and friendly he even told me my broken french was really good; Bless him. Left him a big tip. So to start, I had ceviche of three fish salmon, trout and (I should remember but don 't ; but it was exquisite see the photo. My friend had fresh home made butternut squash soup which was delicious as I helped her finish it off. For mains Sue had Tartiflette al la anciene (without cream and meat and had a small plank of ham as an accompaniement. I opted for a salad with chicken livers which wsa delicious. We shared a chef special for pud Coque aux Fruits which was like a think chocolate cup filled with exotic fruit and lime and it was really scrummy. Will def go back. Would probably share a starter as well as pud as they are a good size."
