"After exploring Rouen on foot for half a day, wife and I chose La Walsheim for dinner as its menu was more interesting than the typical French brasseries, all unremarkable. It was a large, half-timbered, old building made of others with Franco-Germanic food and very busy. Service personnel was also busy and gave us delayed, wrong orders. The house menu was good, but its specialty was "Choucroute", some infamous old grub served to soldiers and priced at E13.95; only a sausage, some sauerkraut and some potatoes. Call that something eaten only by soldiers or those on a slim budget. I chose, instead, just a dozen escargots in garlic butter which, with bread, were tasty and came eventually My wife had also another appetizer, probably mussels, and we were both satisfied without more. Service, in general, was slow and confused."

The food was submediocre: Chef's soup and Beef with fries. The waiter was rude, the tables were dirty and sticky.

Great for quick service with a smile and miles better than a motor way cafe. Had the duck and frittes and a very large Italian salad. Very tasty.

The food was good, with lots of choice and a menu in English. We were a bit worried that because it is a large restaurant we wouldn;t get either top rate service or food, but we should not have worried it was great. Would definitely recommend it.

Very busy, popular, buzzy restaurant. Mainly surrounded by French people, usually a good sign. Enjoyed the €25 menu and vin du moment. Starters were delicious , main course (duck) average and dessert good. Service good and efficient. Typical French restaurant. View menu

I walked in because it was one of the only restaurants open at the time (5PM on a festive monday). Long menu and touristy looking, it would have usually put me off, but went for the duck which was very tasty. Great place for correct food at a reasonable prices.

We ate here three times over 5 days as we like it so much. The salads were fresh and very large portions. The pork filet mignon was excellent and the house wine very drinkable. The waiters were very efficient and entertaining with little quips and comments. Busy restaurant at peak times on a busy pedestrianised street.

Very busy restaurant with waiters rushed off their feet. Food wasn't too bad but disappointing to find that the kids menu only consisted of burger and chips or sausage and chips ☹️. A bit on the expensive side for the quality you get but portion size is pretty good. One of a few restaurants open on a Sunday evening which is a plus View menu

Well, sitting down alone outside meant that I was initially ignored for at least 10 minutes. After that, waiter professional, food arrived fast, flammekuech not very tasty, too much filling & soggy bottom, salad, gewurtztraminer, bread & coffee all good. One of the few all day joints in Rouen. Tourists & locals for that reason. 18,80 Euros for 3 course menu which sounded good.

We decided to try the formule du jour... It couldn't be more delicious...The plates were well served, and totally tasty...My husband tried fish and I tried duck... there were no regrets! After that, they served us a special cheesecake with red fruits... When I remember that it makes my mouth water!Besides that, the space is cozy and beautiful... If you visit there you won't think about leaving!
