"I ordered a 3 course meal of foie gras, magret de canard (duck breast), and chocolate mousse. The foie gras came with toast, jelly, and some type of salt I think. I've never had foie gras before, but it was delicious. For the main course, I got a duck breast that was cooked rare. I've never had duck breast cooked like that before, and it was delicious. This was the 2nd French restaurant I've been to where the meat tasted slightly under-salted, so maybe it is just my American palate. It was not a problem, though. The duck breast came with fried potatoes and a small salad. It was refreshing to not get French fries at a restaurant for once. For dessert I got a chocolate mousse. It was delicious. The service was good thru out the meal, and our waitress was nice. She spoke little English, and us little French, but she had patience with us and we got thru the meal amicably. Finally, the bathroom was spacious and clean. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Lourdes."

I really liked this corner pub. They had some basque beer on draught at a pretty reasonable price. I met a few locals there, although I do no speak much French. A very pleasant place, especially in the evening.

Ok so we were welcomed by the locals. They immersed us in conversation and treated us if they had know us for everThey food was perfect just as if I was still g with my basque family at home in california, usa. Don't be put off by first impressions . I got to have a real picon beer.

Just a short walk from the Pont Vieux and up the pedestrianised (at night) Rue de la Grotte lies one of the best bars in Lourdes, L'Agreable. Well appointed, with good service, cosy decor with hints of gray and purple, this bar exudes class. The owner Noelle Eperion from the Allier is a very friendly hostess and she has a great selection of drinks including the wonderful Basque liqueur Izarra. Worth a detour after a busy day in Lourdes, in fact worth a detour at any time. Not serving food at the moment.

This is one of the places that is open during the off peak season. Flo speaks English and he explains the menu very well. We went there twice and we were impressed on both occasions. The fries are home made and are delicious. The trout was cooked to perfection. The duck (Magret) and lamb chops were cooked very well too. The mussels were also very nice and the 1kg can be shared between two people with a few other accompaniments. Mains range between €13-15. We also tried the dessert which was nice - it is made at the restaurant itself as we saw the chef take plates to the fridge to put them on display. They have a selections of wines and beers to choose from. A pint was €6, a bit steep. Check...
