Amazingly nice place with fine local cuisine, friendly personal and nice decor details. You can taste a variety of seasonal dishes as well as local specialities nicely tuned by the chef.

Open on Sunday, we decided to eat here as we were visiting the Saarschleife. English speaking waitress, but there is no English menu (only German). Nice selection if wines by glass with many local options. The food we ordered was good (rabbit and fish) and...the portions were quite big. At almost euros per main we found it expensive though, because after all this is no haute cuisine. Also, feel free to skip the dessert : we paid euros for a very average tiramisu. I was at this place now times, twice with my family, once during a hiking trip. The food was absolutely excellent each and every time, and they feature a selection of wines from the region which I highly recommend. While the service was good...when I came dressed in suit or cufflink-shirt, it was inacceptable when I came during a hiking trip ... they actually advertise for hikers and are at the starting point of one of Germany's most beautiful hiking routes. The venison I had (each time) was divine. Highly recommended unless you happen to be unlucky with the waiter.

We had dinner here in late August, while staying in the hotel. The restaurant was comfortable with tables reasonably spaced. The menu seemed varied with lots choice. We opted for the course menu with matching wines and started with a gin and lavender aperitif...which was delicious. Service seemed slow to start but as the meal progressed we felt that the timing between courses was just right and we had a very relaxed enjoyable evening. Our favorite part of the meal was the lamb main course – delicious lamb beautifully cooked and nicely accompanied with potato gnocchi amongst other things. We stopped by Landidyll Landhotel Saarschleife on our way back from Luxembourg and what a great find! Turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip definitely ranks among the best gnocchi I've ever, ever had! Started out with an *incredible*...cocktail Lavender infused gin, lemon cremant so good! As we're perusing the menus, out comes an amuse of roasted tomato pickled onions packed with flavor! It was asparagus season we wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have as many delicious spears as possible Mr ordered the classic traditional white asparagus with new potatoes in hollandaise sauce.
