"This was our first ever visit and what I've been searching for in the region for years: fresh, simple French cuisine served up in a setting with genuine ambience. The chef is passionate, the service is first class and while we kept being told that it was only 'simple' food, it was far more than that. Traditional cuisine given modern twists. Weekday lunchtime there is no choice; you eat five courses but everyone has the same. Personally I love that approach. It is this sort of restaurant that made me fall in love with French cuisine as a child."

Fantastic menu for Thursday 19 July, with a sublime chicken in the east. The right dose of chili pepper and spices, a hairy taste, of the great Francis. And so bad for those who weren't there... Are the missing people still wrong? :

The dining room is beautifully decorated and is very comfortable. Service is excellent and the food well presented and the presentation is matched by the taste. The cheeseboard has to be seen to be believed. All this at a very reasonable price

We have visited here once again, worth the 40 minute drive from where we live, it was totally full not a seat left in the house, but the host looking after us was perfect as was the Chef who called into to personally say hello to all his guests. The food is perfect and great value for money but the atmosphere makes this a brilliant choice for lunch, but be sure to book to ensure a seat!

I went with my husband and his friend (who was here on holiday) for lunch. It is a 45 minutes drive from our house but a beautiful drive through the French countryside. To then have such a beautiful meal is such a bonus. Very friendly greeting made us feel very welcome. All 5 courses were well presented and tasted excellent. Never seen such a varied cheese board. All this for €15 is excellent value. This is one restaurant we will bring other visitors to.
