"So my partner decided that we should try this place as we have heard all sorts of good and bad things about it in the past and it’s one of the only restaurants in our area we have not visited and it seemed like a...good place to celebrate my birthday before meeting our friends in town afterwards. Our table was booked for 7.30 and we arrived about two mins before. We waited a few minutes to be seated and then shortly afterwards we were presented with an horsd’oeuvres which was a very small class container with a creamy cheese and beetroot dip accompanied by six extremely small morsels if bread (it looked desperate). All that aside, it tastes very nice. We then sat and waited, thinking a menu may appear shortly. And we waited, and waited and waited and waited until eventually (after 20 mins) I managed to grab the waiters attention and asked if there was a menu. He replied there was a board which he would present to us in two minutes. So we waited for the board. Meanwhile two guys and a girl came in and were seated on the table behind us. The menu board was then presented to all of us (the other table too). After another ten minutes the waiter returned and walked past our table and took the order from the table behind us, who by now had only been in the restaurant for about 15 mins in total. He then took their order to the kitchen this naffed me off as I felt we had already waited a ridiculous amount of time and now others were being served before us. Eventually he returned to us and took our order this was 40 mins after we had arrived, very poor service. Our food then arrived swiftly. The food wasn’t unpleasant, but by now I was so fed up that I just wanted to eat and leave as I felt there was no service here at all. I didn’t feel the food was anything special and overall it was a little disappointing. It all sounded good on the board and when presented to us, but just lacked imagination when presented. I had two small slices of foie gras with a bit of salad and two pieces of bread for my starter followed by what looked like three small pieces of Wiener schnitzel on a salad (the meat was lamb however). No bread basket offered. My dessert was a very quickly knocked up part frozen panda cotta with raspberry coulis and squirty cream on top. We ate and decided to pay our bill. The waiter asked was everything okay and I replied that I was not happy with how king it took before our order was taken. He pointed out he was the only person serving (there was a total of 17 people in the restaurant). I then pointed out that it did not please me that he served the table behind me before us and his response........ “That table had the daughter of the chef on it”. I thought I had misheard so I asked again for the reason and he repeated that he had served that table before us because the young lady was the chef’s daughter!!! Do I need to say anymore? So overall....... a comfortable looking setting, rather cold in the restaurant (16C), passable food just not terribly exciting and the worst service I have had in any restaurant in this area. The forty minute wait to take an order followed by the reasons is unacceptable. I don’t think we will be going back there and I don’t think their local competition in Axat has anything to fear!!"

21/05/17 First visit, last year, was fantastic. Second visit, this year, just as good. Food, service and wine list are top tier. Next time I am near I will visit again. Best regards, Jens Herløv

We arrived very late after a good rafting session. at that hour they could have refused us. but they were super nice and offered us a vegetarian salad and a menu of the day. We ate well. Thank you again.

a frankly whatever and very fatty cuisine for a restaurant known for excellence by tripadvisor. an incomprehensible and disappointing welcome. allergic people or with intolerances abstain because staff and management take this for discontent. Incomprehensible! !!! half-picked service. the direction has put us out after the first dish.

A very warm welcome that will be extended to us with the nursing staff. The atmosphere and the ambience are warm and friendly. The elections are diverse and imaginative. Every course and ingredients have been explained to us. The food was creatively served and the portions were very good. Service was...efficient. Very recommended. Will definitely go back and take friends.

Booked to go with friends for my husband's birthday contract. Once we came in, we were received, and the friendly staff showed us on our table. The menu is brought to you on a chalkboard, and our server explains everything... in English and French. Very interesting menu, and my four grois for beginners was delicious, main courses were varied and included bratox cheeks. The menu of 3 courses is fixed price of €30, and is excellent value for money. This place was completely renovated, and away are the fireplace and the old fashion furniture. It is now less formal and relaxed. Will be back when we visit our house in the area again

After a busy week of many changes we decided we wanted to go where we know for sure the food, service and atmosphere are beautifully consistent so we booked a table for us and our friends at the Rebenty. We were not disappointed but that...was not a surprise as this venue and the people are invariably a delight for us. We were warmly welcomed by Jesus, Didier and the team and although the restaurant was very busy the service was exemplary. Within minutes we had our aperitif, our table and were perusing the menu. We had a fantastic evening of good food and great ambience underpinned by entertainment from our lovely waiter. I chose the deconstructed French onion soup which I love as I am provi...

"What a fabulous place! We visited Le Rebenty for the first time this evening, a warm Wednesday in late August. Had a problem parking on the road adjacent to the restaurant but that was the only hiccup of the evening! The restaurant car park/lay-by was...very small, enough for four or five cars and so we had to park on a grass verge next to the restaurant with a shear drop to one side! Once inside Le Rebenty we were welcomed by warm, friendly staff, all equipped with face masks in line with Covid regulations. The interior of the restaurant was quirky and cosy and, as we were shown to a delightful, well-appointed table for two, we looked forward to a romantic evening. Our waitress promptly took our order for pre-dinner drinks which were delivered expeditiously, together with a tasty, garlicky emulsion and some fresh bread. One of the chefs appeared with a large chalk board detailing the menu choices and he took time to explain, in both French and English, each delectable option. Once we had made our food selections, we relaxed and enjoyed aperos, observing as the restaurant began to fill up with a variety of clientele: locals; tourists; families; couples. Our starters arrived about ten minutes later and both dishes were generous and tasty. We were not disappointed! It wasn’t long before our main courses arrived we both chose ‘The Williams Burg’: a chicken burger with fries. Our food was well-presented (and served with a smile)..... it was all very fresh, hot and just utterly delicious! The white wine chosen paired perfectly with the flavours of the chicken. We were left alone to enjoy the experience just long enough to finish our food, then sit back and relax. Our waitress was attentive but absolutely knew when to leave us be. We had opted for the reasonably-priced three-course menu but now we were both replete!! The dessert selection looked superb but neither of us had capacity! We have had such a lovely, relaxed evening savouring delicious food, in a convivial, safe, comfortable environment. Thank you Le Rebenty. We will definitely return!"

"Our friends and we wanted to sit outside in a beautiful environment and eat good food in a welcoming atmosphere, so we chose Le Bar Central. We always enjoy our time in this restaurant, but it was even better than normal. Our appetizers of salad... of gésiers and salad of roasted goat cheese on whole grain bread were absolutely delicious. The dressing on the salad was amazing and the whole was garnished with roasted pine nuts. Two of us chose the entrecôte that was declared to be cooked for perfection and beautifully seasoned. One had a magret de canard who was a very generous portion and again said to be cooked for perfection. One had Steak Haché, who looked fantastic and was again a big part. All were served with crispy freshly cooked frits and salad. It was all fantastic and none of us had room for dessert, but we saw the most amazing ice cream desserts served and wished we were still hungry. The service was excellent and the team made us very welcome. We were not rushed and despite the fact that other diners were turned away, we never felt we should go. We think it is necessary to make a reservation for lunch in this restaurant as it is an extremely popular place. This is restless as we have four appetizers and four main courses all cooked and presented, four aperitif, wine and beer for 25€ per head in addition to them offer a very attractive performance for our friends dog...so friendly. Thank you, Jean Benoit and the Team Bar Central for a nice afternoon."
