"L’en-Cas Bio is a casual place where you grab cold beverages from a case, put them on a tray, order food at counter and pay, sit down, and they bring you your food. A restaurant with organic vegetarian and gluten-free options sounded great in theory, but my actual experience disappointed. The food tasted good, but poorly trained staff made me worry that my food would not be truly gluten-free. Cashier wasn’t sure what was gluten-free and what wasn’t, even though there were signs differentiating right behind her head. When my food came, salmon and leek cake looked like slices of a mini-loaf. Salad, which I had not ordered, had half a slice of bread on it. So I inquired and the cook told me nothing on my tray was gluten-free. I protested that gluten-free was what I had ordered and their sign says the salmon and leek cake was “Sans Gluten” and I showed him the sign. He said oh yes, that was right, he was new, sorry. He told me the slice of bread on the salad definitely had gluten in it, but he did not replace the salad. The salad turned out to be shredded cabbage. The salmon cake looked quite yellow, so I’m guessing it was made from corn. I did not eat it all since many celiacs, including me, do not do well with corn. I felt really lousy afterward. Can’t say why exactly though. As I mentioned, the food was tasty, but if you seriously cannot handle gluten, I'd be careful here.Quite expensive for what you get. The tiniest Perrier bottle on the planet was 2,20. Fresh fruit juice (which I did not get) cost 6 euros."

Highly recommended cafe with fresh, organic food. We tried the gluten free cakes which are savoury breads. Warm and toasted, they were served with a fresh salad or soup (carrot

Great lunch time spot, serving organic foods and drinks in a beautiful location in the centre of town. I tried the vegan/ gluten free option (Assiette végétalien), it was a big salad, hummus, rice cakes, spicy vegetable balls, and the soup of the day. It was very filling and fresh and I will be taking other friends there soon.

Other than the cafe being tricky to find, the service and coffee were great. The servers where very nice and answered all questions. The vibe inside the cafe is nice and they have outside seating for when the weather is warm and sunny. Prices are similar to most cafes and very reasonable especially since it is Organic. We plan to visit again.

I had seen reviews of this cafe on tripadvisor and was hoping to find it. Imagine my surprise when we stumbled upon it right behind our hotel! My French is very limited and the person who took my order had limited English, but I managed to order delicious vegetarian food which doesn't seem too easy to do in France. When I asked about one of the items on the menu, they even gave me a sample! The food was fantastic and the staff was very nice and accommodating. If we are ever in Annecy again, we will go back!

My wife and I came across this place whilst wandering around Annecy in June. They were closing in half an hour, so we had a quick drink and a piece of cake. It was delicious - we told them we'd be back for a meal. The day before the end of the holiday, we made a special trip into Annecy to eat here and it was worth it. A really relaxing environment, fun enthusiastic staff, and great food. Being beside the canal made it a really relaxing environment in which to enjoy the delicious food. Next time we are in Annecy, I'm sure we will be back here.

I was looking for a place to eat my early dinner at 5pm, something light and tasty as it was so hot here. This was perfect. The warn goat cheese salad was full of great fresh vegetables like peppers, carrots, salad, tomatoes, goat cheese on toast, with a tasty dressing. I finished the entire generous plate it was that good!Nice to see a place that stays open throughout the day. They have been here for 5 years and it shows they know what they are doing. Hard to find it as it is in between streets in a passage, but well worth the effort! Will probably go back during my 3 day stay.Closed on Sundays.

For a vegetarian traveller, this cafe was like a safe haven for my fiancé and I. The cafe is warm and inviting and the staff very accommodating despite our very limited and (I imagine) frustratingly bad french. The vegetarian options are not plentiful but are definitely adequate! Choose the 'Assiette Vegetarienne' where you will receive their plate-of-the-day. They also have soy milk! (Ask for 'lait de soja' in whatever milk-based drink you choose) they're open from 8.30am til 6pm and serve meals more or less the whole way through. My only complaint would be that the coffee wasn't brilliant but then again, western-style coffees generally never are in France so I should just be grateful that...
