"I’ve lived in Paris for over 20 years. I speak the language like a native, without a trace of an American accent; I’ve been to the best restaurants, to the multi-stars and last night I am unhappy to concede : I have been to the worse restaurant EVER!! Les Tontons says it serves until 23:30; we showed up just after 22:00 and asked if we could dine, my cousins and friends, 5 of us...I should have backed out when the patron asked if we didn’t mind ordering the dessert at the same time as the main course...what was the hurry? But it was late and gave in to the request... 2 insipide cassoulets with only beans and a lone sausage, 2 tagliatelles au saumon with no saumon !!! and a shoe leather over cooked entrecôte later we were rushed into a bland mousse au chocolat dessert by a what appeared to be either a very drunk commis de cuisine...and the check of 157,35 at the same time...we left 45 Minutes after arriving but not without my giving the patron an earful!! If we were just there to make the day’s final take I wouldn’t have minded as much as what happened: there was nothing left in the pantry to sell !!! Well tourist and residents alike: this place is going DOWN!!!"

a nice list of tartare that makes salty unfortunately it doesn't really find itself in the platepeu of flavors despite the ingredients.

This is a fabulous restaurant that specializes in tartar so I had a steak tartar made with port wine and Roquefort cheeseIt was DELICIOUS.

Découvert au hasard, nous avons été très agréablement surpris. Les entrées sont excellentes (oeuf cocotte !), les plats idem. Le service est impeccable, rapide, souriante, discrète. Nous y retournerons !

Read reviews and was staying in the area so gave it a try. I had a very authentic cassoulet which was tasty, if a bit oily. My daughter had their house burger which was good. Excellent wine recommendation from the patron. Also shared a home made tiramisu which was delicious, though could have done with a bit more sponge, Restaurant pretty much frequented by locals and good atmosphere. Worth a go if you are in the area which is not touristy so you also get good value for money compared to the tourist hot spots.

I stumbled on Les Tontons as I was staying around the corner on a work trip to Paris. Wow what a place. If you’re looking for a bit of authentic, informal Paris, this is it! Packed to the gills by the time I left so get there before 8 if you want a table. Lots of delicious wines by the glass. Amazing food I had a Grande Salade TonTons and a cafe gourmande, with 2 glasses of wine and a 500ml Perrier for under 40 euros. Just delicious! I’ll be back with husband too hopefully next time to sample the various tartares because they looked amazing!

Dommage.
