"if they want a bit of frankly in Scotland, there is no better tempo than edinburghs west end. l’escargot blanc is a beautiful wee restaurant serving authentic French dishes in a very French environment. all the waiters and waiters speak French and I enjoy practicing with them a little bit of my pristine French. I have eaten twice here and both times it was exceptional, fuss-free and very good value. the first time I decided for the fish Manic course, which was beautiful the sose in which they served, and the brot was also very good. my friend went for the omelette I think it was a very good omelette. we ordered the sorbet for dessert, who was very good. the second time I ordered the plate du jour, which was meatball venison) in a wonderful tomato sauce. the half of our group ordered it, it was freshly cooked and served as their mother to house in a large copper pan. for dessert, most went for dessert of the day, the baked apple served with berries sauce, mandel and cream fraiche very unusual and not my usual choice of dessert but very good! when they book their pre-theater menu, they can get two courses worth less than £15 incredible, I think. worth a visit."

Lovely set lunch menu. Vibrant atmosphere a buzz if you like. The French staff add to the authentic design decor and of course the food. Love to see cheeses left out of the fridge as if to give a two finger salute to all those stupid European rules. Try this place if you like French food.

we ate with another couple yesterday. I was the last one who arrived and was hit by the one that was loud. eating was quite good, despite the fact that the hem of my man was cold. my main handle was the unbearable noise that made it impossible to conduct a normal conversation. we never go to lunch again.

I was twice! that is not a surprise! ... but I live in yorkshire and drive up and back during the day. it is that good Fridays Beaufort cheese to the best that the planet has produced. the flanks of the bark was a typical French slower chef dipped meat. I like the corbiere and the ungi columbard was freshly vibrating and just as it should be, it should not miss and make sure that there is a replacement seat for me

User-friendly French food here. Menu changes seasonally. I started with the butternut soup, which had a really nice balance of flavors. Next came the parmesan risotto stuffed into a miniature pumpkin (complete with a very smart hat) an interesting and well-done combination of flavors and textures. The cheese plate was a bit disappointing in anticipation I had imagined up something much more impressive than what came I will have fond memories of that salted carmel creme brûlée for a long, long time. Trois couleurs s'il vous plait. We need a L' Escargot Rouge in Edinburgh. We have bleu' in Broughton Street, blanc' in the West End and I think a rouge' in the Southside would complete the set and rather neatly emphasise the gastronomic fraternité of Scottish ingredients with a French twist. I wonder if owners Frédéric Berkmiller and Betty Jourjon agree I went along with a friend to sample Blanc' in the West End. We chose from the a la carte menu although there is also an excellent menu du jour also We started with foie gras with toasted brioche and apple chutney for me and steamed mussels with bleu d'auvergne cheese for my friend The atmosphere couldn't...read more
