"what a charming French restaurant scene: the sun taps the edifice; the barge in the background and everything before we talk about eating and the personal. the table was booked, but we needed to be too hot for the people at the end of the table, again, no problem, we move their table '. now for eating. the appetizers, I had the tasteful thunfish tartan with a creature of light sorbet on the top that was a perfect companion while served on a light bed of the dressed rocket leaves. for the main I had the hard fish, perfectly cooked with pure carrot and celeriac. oh my god, went to eat. others in our party had the sweet, amazing aromas. each of the six of us had something different and each dish was perfect. that is difficult to achieve. the personal was so attentive and well trained with love to detail. even the beautiful collieh was a shady. To the kept house entrance if they are not dog lovers as we are. it was the birthday of the naves so we were treated with a digestive tract. happy people swimming after home. the location at the river, the eating and the staff in a perfect ambiente would give a perfect score. well made meg david plus her wonderful staff. we'll see you again. dee and brian"

beautiful location, highly motivated and friendly staff. Unfortunately, eating did not fully meet the expectations of the environment, although the ingredients are said to be all fresh and locally produced, preparation of our main dish (seiche) left us unimpressed. not very tasteful, soggy...Fries and an salate we thought wrongly that they were the same as in the appetizer. the aioli was really good. dessert was pretty good.

if they go this restaurant in any case. we had a great lunchtime. smoked salmon salad and tagliatelle with huge king prawns and a high quality coffee to complete. the tintenburger looked out and I would try it definitiw. they will not...disappointed in the did they will most likely be thrilled. the owners were also very friendly and could not do enough. I love it when the owners love what they do. they get quality as result.

If you find yourself in Bram, it's probably because you're traveling along the Canal du Midi. By all means, indulge in L'Ile aux Oiseaux. Beautifully prepared food, value for money, warm, friendly, relaxed but professional service we ate here twice, at the beginning and...end of our week on the Canal, and it was the favorite for both kids and adults. We'll miss this place! Everything was good, but the seafood dishes were the best!

Despite a slightly disappointing and unusually breezy, grey day we received a warm welcome at this beautifully sited canal-side restaurant. Great food and service on their first day of reopening and a talented new chef made for a perfect lunch. We all took the meal...of the day (starter and main) which was incredible value equivalent to having a main course and paying euro extra for the starter. All in all an excellent and most enjoyable lunch we will be back!

the best restaurant right in front of carcassonne. it is worth visiting. there are many parking spaces on the canal and the views on the boats are so convenient. there is a nice selection of menu options. I had the laughs for the starter who was excellent. I decided. for the mönch fish **** for my head and was certainly not disappointed. we were almost full, but we still managed to press in the medley of desserts. the owners spoke both English and French, and we were so welcome. the restaurant was busy, but the service was always a high standard. will definitely visit again next time in carcassonne

Well, were we pleased we moored up at Bram as the l'ile aux Oiseaux was a real gem. For entrees, one of us went with scallops, one with beef carpaccio and two with the tomato and prawn dish, each of us commenting on how good...each of them were. For mains, the duo of fish (cod and sea bream) meal with accompanying risotto and salad drew very positive comments while the rest of us went with the mussels and frites, generally drawing the comment of best mussels i have had for a while'. A bottle of local white wine rounded things off nicely. The female owner and her partner were excellent hosts who also did the waitering service, both adding to the evening.

A wonderful respite around lunch time on the Canal du Midi on the Avignonet-Carcassonne run. The most spectacular lunch in two weeks of travel in France and Belgium. Creative meat and fish preparations; incredible salads, wonderfully acidic and fruity regional rose wines. Our British host...and cook were great sources of insight into evolving French culture, and made wonderful recommendations for dinners in Carcassonne. Atlantic salmon never tasted this great! This is a great place for those plying the waters or bike paths, but I noticed that all the other diners in the courtyard on this blistery day were from town. Obviously the locals want to keep this a secret.
