"This was the best all-around meal I had during my two weeks in Italy! I read about the restaurant in a blog and was excited to experience it for myself. After my experience, I have to say that it surpassed my expectations! Paola, Laura and their family were warm and welcoming. They made my family and I feel like family. The food was plentiful and EXCELLENT, all homemade and typical of Piacenza! We started with a platter of coppa, salami, and pancetta, accompanied by chisolini and giardiniera. Then we were served burtleina and fried fiori di zucca, which were incredible. Then the much anticipated tortelli con la coda, which was the best tortelli I had during my two weeks in Italy (and I spent a lot of time in Piacenza and Parma)! They also served homemade tomato/porcini sauce on the side which was one of the best I ever had. Then, to top it off, we were served the other crown jewel, anolini in brodo. It was to die for. All throughout our meal we drank homemade gutturnio in traditional fashion, which is to drink it from a bowl! Excellent gutturnio which they sell to the public for cheap. Go and buy yourself a few bottles! They also served us a variety of homemade desserts that were all excellent, and which were accompanied by a phenomenal homemade dessert wine. The price was very reasonable because of the superior quality and generous portion sizes. You MUST make the trip here to taste and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. "While exploring the country side of Piacenza you are bound if lucky to find a place like Le Proposte. We had a fantastic dinner with the freshest ingredients and it was the simplicity of it all that made it just perfect. The antipasto, fresh zucchini flowers very lightly fried and full of flavor, the peppers that accompanied the salame,pancetta,coppa and prosciutto were pickled and just right in the acidity. We were also served a bruschetta with green sauce and goat cheese, I would have wanted more but needed to be carful for what was to come. We decided to share a main course, fresh made caramelle (typical for the Piacenza area) with ricotta and spinach in butter and sage, it has been a very long time that I tasted such decadence in such a simple plate. Absolutely worth the carbs! We then ordered the duck with cherries and Culatello with apricot sauce. The duck was cooked to perfection, and tasted great with the sides, and the culatello was extremely tender and it was perfect with the apricots. For dessert we shared a quite generous portion of peach and chocolate cake, the peaches were fresh and the consistency of the pastry was crispy and delicious. We then were offered a local digestive, I had never tasted a Bargnolino and it was a great way to finish a wonderful dinner. I highly recommend if you are in the area to try this family run restaurant."

"Spectacular lunch with the most wonderful starter of a selection of top quality regional salumi consisting of culatello, salami, Pancetta, coppa, prosciutto. Which are served on lovely wooden boards. Then I would suggest ordering the gnocchi fritte to accompany this, these are the most amazing large fried puffs of delightful pastry. They make perfect partners to this course. Following that for main course i had A huge fillet steak (Filletto di Manzo) cooked over charcoal, and my husband had a Tagliata (which in Italian means sliced, or cut) and is a steak which is about an inch thick which they cooked it in the same way over charcoal..both were incredibly tender and tasty. I can honestly say it was one of the best fillet steaks I ever eaten, and my husband felt the same. We finished the meal off with a liquid vodka lemon sorbetto (sorbet) which you drink trough a straw. You can have it also without the vodka if you prefer. Fabulous lunch. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. They also make pizzas, and possibly do take aways. Anything you will eat here should be really good."

"Negli ultimi anni, mi dispiace, ma non è più quello di prima. Il menù pubblicato sul sito è ben strutturato, ma nei piatti trovate poco, anzi pochissimo. Se arrivi dopo che hanno iniziato a servire, fanno le corse per metterti in pari con gli altri, col risultato che devi mangiare velocemente. Oltretutto, quando sono andato io nel menù c'era scritto torta al caffè e crostata, ma dopo la torta, che non era un granché, è arrivato il caffè, della crostata non si è avuta notizia. Mi dispiace perché ci sono andato sempre con piacere, difficilmente tornerò."
