"Absolutely appalling!! Booked as a treat for myself and 3 family members as I have been to other Marco Pierre restaurants and have always had a fantastic experience. The menu was small simplistic so we were expecting the food to be cooked to a high standard. Instead the food was very bland and not well cooked and we all said we could have cooked better food at home. Our orders were mixed up brought out in the wrong order and the staff were in-experienced and extremely rude. The waitress then started clearing our table when one of the party was still eating and rolled her eyes at me when I asked if she could please wait until we had all finished. She then returned minutes later and bluntly asked ‘do you want deserts or the bill’. We were then rushed off of the table despite the fact that the restaurant was pretty quite and we still had half a bottle of wine to finish. The cheek of it is that we then had to pay the 12.5% service charge for this **** experience! If it hadn’t been for the fact that another member of the group paid the bill, I would have refused to pay the full amount and walked out. Do not waste you money or time here- this ruined our evening and next time we will go round the corner to Zizi’s and have a much better meal experience!!"

This is my 4th visit now and each time the food and service has been really good.

£7 for a pint of blackcurrant and soda is outrageous. The food was average and overpriced. The only good thing was the fish of the day sea bass for £20.

We were not informed there would be a reduced menu on NYE so we’re a little disappointed. We did feel very rushed and our mains were brought out as I was just finishing my bruschetta. We didn’t get offered any sauces for the Calamari or Parmesan for the pasta. A little disappointed for a NYE meal but overall ok.

Dire. They had changed the menu overnight so there were only pasta and pizza choices. Loads of people were asking whether the longer menu was. Felt sorry for the staff. The starters were greasy and looked like they’d been plated hours earlier. Pasta tasted reheated; sides as though they were out of a supermarket tin. Total waste of money- their website is very misleading. Absolutely awful. Avoid.

The restaurant had run out of ingredients for their pizzas the day before, which greatly limited our menu options. The food was acceptable, but it was disappointing to be charged extra for sauce when one of the pasta dishes was rather dry. Additionally, the coffee machine was either malfunctioning or unavailable, and a service charge of 12.5% feels quite excessive considering the issues I experienced.

The new menu is quite enjoyable, although it's evident that there's a strong focus on margins when it comes to the appetizers. The bread for my bruschetta was so thin that it fell apart as I tried to lift it to my mouth. They had run out of pizza, but we really enjoyed our pasta dishes, which were cleverly incorporated into the menu. The wine list is short but good. We received excellent service from Dale, who apologized for the pizza situation. I would definitely recommend the pasta, and the chicken Milanese looked fantastic as well.

"I was excited to go back to La Caverna with some friends, but was disappointed to find out that you have to order in advance, which is not my preference. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, our expectations quickly diminished. The greeting we received, "I'm busy dealing with this customer," was not very welcoming, and the rest of the evening continued to be frustrating with poor service. It took 40 minutes for our first round of drinks to arrive, and our starters were okay, but our mains were brought out before we were ready and some of our guests were missing from the table. We were not offered dessert or coffee, and when we ordered more drinks, they never arrived. It took over 30 minutes to get the bill, and when I asked for my remaining pizza to be boxed up, it took another 20 minutes to find a box, even though they do takeaway pizza. The staff member was rude and sarcastic when we went to pay, and made a snide comment about splitting the bill, even though there were only 5 of us. When he asked if we were leaving a tip, I firmly responded with a 'no' in front of my friends. Later that evening, I got sick and ended up vomiting everything I had eaten at the restaurant. I will not be returning to this establishment, as the poor treatment and service we received was unacceptable. I chose to spend my money here, and was disappointed with how we were treated as a group."
