"Superb evening meal. I chose the venison roast off the daily special menu, which was superb, although the highlight of the dish was the best red cabbage I have ever tasted! The sauce and spätzle were excellent too.I wanted to test some of their cheese too, so ordered a "small" plate of cheese and bread to finish up. It was huge! Goodness knows what the large platter is like!I was on my own and had not booked, so was placed on a large table with some other customers. Absolutely no problem as my fellow diners were charming, but if you want a table of your own, early reservation is recommended.A couple on the table next door shared a fondue (min. 2 people to order) which looked superb, and the appreciative noises from their table suggested that it tasted good too!A coffee and a local schnapps rounded off my meal well, and I was presented with a complimentary milk-based schnapps at the end. With a (very) full stomach, and a surprisingly reasonable bill paid, I left the Gaststube. I will definitely be visiting again when I am next in Oberstdorf. Highly recommended."

We had the Forelle Mullerin here, and it was delicious, as was the Topfelstrudel, and it was nice to dine outside.

After reading all the positive TA reviews, we reserved a table at Alt It was an extremely disappointing experience. We were the only people in the restaurant, which says something, as most of the other restaurants in this area were full. I chose the...Oberstdorf pork steak, and my wife had the lasagne with a side salad. The meals were only of average quality. There are better restaurants in this part of Oberstdorf.

when we visited, we sat by the owner who helped to translate the menu for us, as our German is not bad, but certainly not brilliant. we were in the mood for the traditional Bavarian and they tweaked the menu easy so we were exactly what we wanted. when it arrived, eating was two to none, large portions and tasted perfect. we ordered the spatzle with bark meat and everything melted straight in mouth. we asked what weep best with the court went and got two options, and we decided to try a glass of each and oh my quality they were exceptional and brilliant worth. about all can not recommend very enough, this is the place to eat in oberstdorf

"May Holiday 2016 Day 6 – Part 1: Alpe Dornach in Oberstdorf 126 reviews cannot be confused with the certificate “Excellent Food” at tripadvisor, the unchallenged number one in Oberstdorf. The day of mourning was due one day before, the parking lot of the Breitbachklamm was almost complete. Some brave ü70 over 80 years old had already underestimated the path for the footpath in the Breitachklamm and are back again, so far we had this natural monument is the deepest rocky gorge of Central Europe and is one of the most beautiful geotopes of Bavaria! The way through a dream of waterfalls, deep canyons, thanks to God we had not discovered any Allgäu-Kanibals, which are probably lying in the deep rocks, and literally take the word "Leichenschmaus" when you fall in the canyon in part 50 meters. When you arrive at the ticket office above the Breitachklamm, you will find various alternatives to the visitor. We had previously informed, from the cottage you can comfortably stroll into the Alpe Dornach within 45 minutes if there were not the 300 felt stairs. Next time we get 100% by car or by E Bike. Alternatively by car via Tiefenbach, Breitachklamm, armchair path possible all year round. On foot on a magnificent hike, as mentioned at the beginning, through the Breitachklamm via the Zwingsteg to the Alpe Dornach approx. 1.5 hours or you can from the market chicken to the Alpe Dornach. Already at the end of 19. There were attempts to make the Breitachklamm accessible. You failed. The young Tiefenbacher pastor Johannes Pushl finally took the development of the closure into his hands, sought lenders and founded the Breitachklammverein eG. He did this to open an income source for his poor community and promote start tourism, you have a guest card that you just need to surprise 4,50, a really fair price for this nature show. dishes from pasture sauces from own rearing and wild specialities from the local wilderness are the signs of the mountain panorama restaurant, which lies above the magic 1000 meters above sea level. The passage is a real recommendation, then you arrive at some point, you can have your view over the mountains and glaciers enchanted. The first impression was “breathing” now I would like to add something... here the picture of panoramic views is not funny now, but... we noticed the fur and the blankets on the big benches. In addition to the covered terrace area, there is also a further area on the side as well as the all-gäuerisch interior. The service staff is evenly dressed, beautiful, friendly and attentive. Service personnel are still supported by the owner family, some guests are addressed with the name regularity or celebrity? I already fell in love with the menu. The Borgfelder would write now: great, great, great!! As an appetizer Hirschgrat, in beech wood smoked on stone mushroom foam root excavator? Or hot burned cake with red beet tar and fiem spice soy yogurt? For cooling there is a tomato strawberry cold bowl with Rucolast-Roh. As the main course Rumpsteak from the specially cultivated alpine bark, with swollen bacon Böhnchen Päckchen, Allgäuer-Käseschwestern and melted onions or lubricated oxen in boiled burgundy sauce, on Balsamico Rotkraut and two kinds of slices of potato dumplings ... madness. We finally decided also because of the heat, for some yeast bees I had at the end four 0.5 he drank, two soups and two desserts. The soup variations were too much for us. By the way, Alpe Dornach opened daily from 10:00 to 23:00, from 11:00 to 21:00 a.m. a warm kitchen is offered. We finally decided for the wild cream soup with flaky sherry and marons grießstrudel 6,80 and the Allgäu mountain cheese soup “traditionally prepared” with a fluffy potato biscuit. 5,90 Both soups were craftsmanship perfection. Nice creamy and fluffy, pleasant acidity, excellent taste. The strudel as well as the bisquit separately above in a kind of „Hängebrücken Löffel“, so that the crunch was not lost. Fantastic! As dessert it should be the espresso semi-frozen, red wine melon salad and a crispy nutchopper. I chose the small Kaiserschmarn, with marinated apple cubes, almonds and a ball Mövenpick ice cream. The Kaiserschmarn, which I had so far only so well in Hamburg in the Lido, also sought the same espresso parfait. The desserts have kept us so good that we have finally ordered some cheese: carved goat cheese with sweet potato maus and baby mangold. I ordered a deep red. A real ****!"

Rieger`s Restaurant

Rieger`s Restaurant

"Oliver Rieger comes from a gastro family, has learned the culinary arts and worked in the noble address Königshof München. The lady of the house is a restaurant and office businesswoman. And one is extraordinary: The employees are allowed to eat à la carte, because, according to Chef: "You must already know how our food tastes, how to sell it well, i.e. the Bavarian radio, when he informed on television about the restaurant Rieders on TV. On the way out of our summer vacation, I had already seen in the Michelin app for a restuarnt for the second evening, I stayed with the top for the Rieder`s. Reviews such as beautiful ambience with very attentive service. The food was very tasty, all freshly cooked, so we had to taste further dishes for a second time in our holiday: . We had already looked out on the first day after the restaurant, from the outside the restaurant looks like a normal Allgäu family house, a little hidden in a dead end only when you look closer, you can see the small but fine outdoor area, inside it is cozy like sitting with an Allgäu family in the living room. Tables with sufficient space spacing, a few high-quality accessories on the window benches. The tables are polished, dark tiles on the floor. There are some rooms that soundtracks anything but loud, just perfect. The very attentive and well-trained boss comes with the Aperitif recommendation, the recommendation we like to accept on Tripadisor is also made public. We had a sekco with pea mint syrup and a little ruccola, a real crunch (4.90). But after 3⁄4 empty glass we had a small blow away, probably the fruits were still in Vodka or something similar. The menu is small and good. 3 4 appetizers, 4 5 main dishes. There is also a dessert card with 4 5 options. Almost every part is also available as a small part or as an intermediate. There is no menu from the house. I think the couple Oliver and Brigitte Rieger manages to create a family living room well-being atmosphere. It is a close connection to the guests who go to the Riegers. Whether people come from the place or tourists from year to year. The share of regular guests who appreciate the kitchen, ambience and service is correspondingly high. the Bavarian radio, the Rieders is a real pearl in the Oberstdorfer Gastro landscape. We decide to freeze the colonel village goat cheese in goat, but for cabbage soup with cancer meat. as for the double clarified bovine broth with dough pockets and vegetables Julienne, both soups around 5 euros, they were served with a little gray bread double clarified bovine broth with excellent donuts The emphasis is on dough pockets, two airy bright dough pockets filled with meat of light bite, beautiful meat insert. The broth tasted excellent, the cabbage soup excellent. Nicely fluffy creamy, the crab with light bite, some tasting to the sea, which made the pleasure of the main course: Hip steak from the Allgäuer Weiderind, with fresh whistles, two types of sauce and hand-puffed Spätzle (19.80), not only looked good: as an alternative the Schnitzel trilogy stood in the room. Also from the Allgäuer Weiderind, from the Allgäuer Landschwein and from the turkey breast with tasty roast potatoes, the whole was ordered twice during the evening, both people did not create the portions that will probably be my favorite during the next visit. To drink I had two half wheat for the thirst for the Secco, according to which a beautiful red, I think it was a Merlot who lacked some power, he came from Austria. If I have something to complain, then the wine card, which is somewhat too small, many regional Austrian wines, there are a few pickling white wines and some French or Spanish red wines. Back to the hip steak, that was tender pink, but a zig too hard. Hips and fillet, these are actually the favorites of the female sex, because so little fat is there. That was the problem, the hips have unfortunately cut too thin, so they tasted slightly dry, but still in the pass area. Excellent were the two types of sauce. A kind of cream sauce (lightly the darkness was a kind of red wine reduction, has excellently adapted. The late Zle nicely fragrant/fluffy and well salted, slightly still in butter. The paws a dream. For this purpose we were accompanied by a salad that tasted just as much as in the pictures. Green salad nice crispy, down radishes, carrots and cucumber salad. Everything seems to be fresh and to make a conclusion: Here you will certainly not make a bargain, but we will definitely visit the Riegers in September when we return to Oberstdorf (this time for 5 days). Recommendation!"

"The Hotel Restaurant “Saschas Kachelofen” is located in Kirchstrasse 3, not far from the market square. My wife and I have been a frequent guest there, not only this year, but always only guests in the restaurant. For this reason, the assessment refers only to the restaurant and not to the hotel. On the first evening, my wife and I got our food at different times, even though the restaurant was only visited sperily. First I got a salad, then the main dish, then my wife got her salad and later the main dish. The staff was so loud that all guests became witnesses. We ordered an orchard to finish, he was chilled, not as it is usual in Germany room temperature. We talked to the waiter about the maladministration, he told us to the boss. However, he justified his staff's reproach with the words: "If we go down and over it, it can be something like that. He used to work in the kitchen, and he would have thrown pots. In gastronomy, something would be common.” For the special type of temporally offset service he had only lapidare excuses. Also for the temperatures of the drinks. The quality of the food was really good, but if you would like to eat together with your partner and if this is not possible, then you will go to another restaurant on the next visit. The selection is very large in Oberstdorf in this respect, so “Saschas Kachelofen” must definitely improve and work on the mistakes. We can only guess from the visit of this restaurant, although the establishment and food promises good."

"My wife told me about the steam brewery in advance. A colleague of her was recently there and in the last week of November has reserved a table for January and one for February in the steam brewery, the place is known that it is often full. Also in my online search I stumbled over the brewery that offers a so-called cheap lunch table for 6.90 under the week and weekend. Also, as a possible visit, I chose on Wednesday, after the homepage is Wednesdays the trade fair beer day, the measure for 5,90. As a coincidence, we went on last Wednesday from the Oberstdorfer P2 parking lot, shortly after 12 o'clock in the direction of Oberstdorfer Bahnhof, a stone's throw lying the steam brewery. We had not reserved, we were offered a table outdoors (there was a lot to go) and inside (also a lot to go). We moved into a table. From our place we had a wonderful view over the place and could consider driving. Oberstdorf is beautiful. The municipality is the southernmost in Germany. In 1992 the local centre for road transport was blocked. By car arrivals about 1,000 parking spaces can be used at the entrance of the village and by bus to the centre. A pedestrian zone consists of large parts of the village centre, the remaining areas are mostly traffic-smooth. The steam brewery therefore has a very good starting position, almost directly at the station. We study the map and see here, today is Massbiertag, every measure 5,90. I ask the very friendly waiter whether this also applies to yeast wheat, yeast bright and dark. It applies. Fantastic, with me it should be a normal yeast wheat, that was then very dark, but it tasted very good. My wife decides for the Pepsi Light. The 1.2 kilo of witch is served at our table neighbour, which is a serving. We swallow. I had to swallow quickly, the measure was lazy after half, tasteful, but okay. My wife decides for the cheese biscuits mixed with spicy mountain cheese with salad, I for the offered lunch table. According to the map, boss Walter Bauer and his team are preparing a wide range of dishes for guests with love and care. The richness of the offer includes Allgäuer specialties, as well as Swabian delicacies, along with hand-made Bavarian classics and for those who deliberately want to eat light slums and vital food. The kitchen places great emphasis on quality and freshness in all dishes. Regional products from domestic agriculture and from the Allgäu wild stock are processed. That alone, of course, brings the bar a little higher, so we were excited. The specialties of the house are: the Allgäuer Käspatzen, the Bavarian Krustenbraten and the traditional Schweinshaxe. To the homemade cheeses is served in advance a side salad that was beautifully dressed, but mostly consisted of cheap yellow leaf salad (iceberg), but it was tasteful, thanks to the dressage, okay. The then rich cheese puffs of the original Allgäuer type could almost be served in Munich. The cheese was very spicy, almost a zig too strange, for the delicate taste of my better half. I've already eaten your comment on the cheese parrots, but it was tastefully fine. I had the lunch table Allgäuer Leberkäs Cordon Blue. The liver cheese was very crispy, which was very good. Filled with simple cooking ham and cold cut cheese. The added potato cucumber salad was pleasant to eat. Due to the acid of vinegar, this is well suited together with the strong liver cheese. The part was absolutely sufficient, even if I was hungry an hour later. Along with the very spicy (and unfortunately also very powerful) cheeses I come to 3 stars at dinner. The service was very good at our visit, so I come to an overall rating of 3.5 stars. Conclusion: With the description of food on the homepage and on the map you want to play a league higher. Food is too easy, especially if salads lack the right products from agriculture. Recommended only the offered table for 6.90"
