"Kinda strange as I was visiting this place for a music night, I knew they had a bar and a cellar. Well I was pleasantly surprised they had a restaurant on the third floor. So I had pre-booked a table a hour and half before the gig. When we arrived we was so shocked how cool this place was!! So big and little corridors go off here and there, you have to go even for there cocktails or beers and more just to wonder around the building. Anywhere I digress, We were seated and looked through the menu (so much choice) we chose the Bourbon street platter waited 30-40 minutes for it too come but I knew this was freshly cooked absolutely delicious worth the wait and equally priced. If you visit Stamford you need to go here."

I was recommended this restaurant by a friend and found it to be delightful. The food was delicious and unique, and at a reasonable price. The upstairs dining area is well-arranged and has a pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.

Went late Saturday afternoon. Very quiet at the time but awesome looking place. Great music playing. Worst cocktails I 've ever had though. When I complained I was told it 's too warm . Too warm to make ice in 18° weather? I 'd expect it removed from menu/an alternative given. View menu

Took my wife to sample the soul food at Mama Liz in Stamford. My wife went for the Steak and I did the Fajitas. Enjoyed everything although 3 tortilla’s were never going to be enough to wrap all of the meat veggies and sauce!!Clean, tasty and reasonable value, gonna need five tortilla’s next time though!

We visited Mama Liz for the first time recently to see Big Boy Bloater live and ate in the restaurant before heading down into the cellar for the gig. The food was great, ribs, nachos, chilli poppers were just a small selection of what we had. The bar was great too, décor was unique and the beer, first class. The cellar was an ideal location for live music and we all had a really good time. Definitely will be returning and now on their mailing list!

This restaurant is perfect in every way. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional and unique dishes that are all delicious and generously portioned. Whether you are a meat-eater, vegetarian, or vegan, there is something for everyone. The staff is exceptional and the manager is very knowledgeable about the regular customers and always knows how to recommend something new and exciting. Even after moving to Sleaford, we still come back frequently to enjoy the amazing music at the Sunday Sessions and relax before the busy week ahead. View menu

Dropped in here for a drink before heading for home. I wish we hadn't bothered. The staff were more interested with his mate sat at the bar. Finally we were served and sat down only to be interrupted by a foul mouthed young girls who took great delight in shouting and swearing at the people who were with her. She was told to be quiet for her to kick off again. Goodness knows what the people having a meal must have thought. Finally she was ushered out not by members of staff but her friends only for her to gob off at them once outside.

We decided to have lunch at this restaurant. It wasn't very busy, but the service and food were exceptional. I decided to try the catfish for the first time, and although I was a bit unsure, I enjoy trying new foods so I gave it a shot. The catfish was tender, firm, and delicious. I've been craving it ever since. If you're a seafood lover, I highly recommend trying it. The cornbread was also amazing. My husband ordered the beef fajitas, which were also excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, making it a truly wonderful dining experience.

"The Stag Inn is a delightful looking pub overlooking the small green in the village of Barkston near Grantham. Internally the pub is clean and tidy with a range of two and four seater tables with New England shades of light blue on the painted table legs in the restaurant area. We didn’t venture into the pub side so can’t vouch for the decor in there. We arrived unannounced just after opening time of 12 and were offered a table with no difficulty. There was a menu of the usual offerings of fish and chips and a range of burgers together with roast salmon, chargrilled pork chop, a leek and cauliflower cheese pot pie, ham egg and chips and a vegetable lasagne amongst others. A specials chalkboard hung on the far wall and the crab and prawn salad with Mediterranean bread sounded so good we both opted for it. That was a mistake as we were to find out. The meals were reasonably quick to arrive and were served up in two large bowls with a dusting of paprika round the edges. What hit me immediately was the large flaccid green lettuce leaf draped over the edge of the bowl, together with a whole half-a-lemon that we each had. A small wedge would be perfect. The bread tasted sweet and was as far from the Mediterranean as it could possibly be apart from the occasional input of sundried tomato. What irked me most though was that the bread was delivered up pre-buttered with what looked like some bright yellow catering spread. A small ramakin of real butter between the two of us would work so much better. When asked if everything was okay I mentioned this and was told that chef would be informed. Having said all that the crab and prawn salad was full of flavour and sat on a nice mixed salad of red peppers, lettuce, red onion and cornichons. A word of advice to the wise….. don’t sit at the table near the restaurant counter as this is where the pub’s phone is located. On at least two occasions the phone was left to ring unanswered by the staff, presumably as they were busy elsewhere (the pub was by no means full) and was right behind my head! The volume of the ringer was high and it would have been a more pleasant experience for us if, firstly, it was answered and, secondly, the volume was turned down. On the plus side the staff were polite and helpful but the food not so great."
