Man On Fire Burgers

Great tasting burger and very generous portions size. Much better than well known burger chains and I'm pleased we went in.

None of your brioche nonsense here, just good old morning rolls. Stopped in last night for a Carnage burger to takeaway and it was fantastic.

Amazing burgers! Got an order for workmates. One of the guys has said its the best burger he has ever had. Quick, friendly, professional. And delicious!

Had takeaway burgers from here couple of days ago. Very impressed by the overall quality the bun, patty and fillings were exactly what you would want from a good burger. Good chips too. Great that they cook the patty medium by default. Will be coming back.

I would rate this restaurant a 5 out of 10. The food consisted of freshly cooked burgers that were tasty but nothing extraordinary. The fries were standard. The prices were very reasonable. The decor was amusing, although the restaurant was undergoing renovations. Despite this, it had a cozy atmosphere. The claim of being the best burger in Edinburgh and Scotland is questionable, but it is worth a visit.

We asked Martin to cater for my birthday party. We had a barbecue for 50 people. He brought everything including side dishes, desserts, plates and cutlery. Nothing was too much bother. The food (including the burgers and relish) was all home made. He fed the vegetarians first, then did sausages and burgers. It went down extremely well. The price was good too. I had never eaten at the man on fire before. But I would definitely recommend it now.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. After a wonderful day at the beach with friends, we decided to try the "best burger place in Edinburgh" as advertised. Unfortunately, the owner was incredibly arrogant and unfriendly. The burger I ordered was not cooked properly and had chunks of fat in it. Additionally, the owner tried to overcharge me by £5. I handed him a £20 note for an £8.20 meal, but he only gave me £6.80 back. I will not be returning to this restaurant and would not recommend it to others.

My boyfriend went in to pick up us a couple of burgers which we took down to eat on Portobello Promenade, a five minute walk at best. When we got there we found both burgers underdone and inedible. My boyfriend went back to complain but just got a mouthful of abuse from the guy running it claiming they weren't underdone and we'd just taken too long to eat them. I think because both my boyfriend and I are teenagers he thought he could get away with bad service to back up his bad food. Portobello is a lovely place to visit but avoid Man On Fire if you do!

The Big Dipper is hands down the best burger I have ever had. Nothing I've tried elsewhere even comes close to comparing. I would rate it a perfect 10/10 in terms of size, taste, and value. The cheese is made using a unique process, and the way it is applied to the burger is unlike anything I've ever tasted. The handmade meat is cooked to perfection and is the most authentic burger I have ever had. The fact that it comes with delicious chips only adds to its incredible value. Despite being priced similarly to chain restaurants, it surpasses them in every way. I am willing to drive 60 miles just for another taste of their amazing food.
