"Visited here after I found out they had re-opened. It was great to see the owner again I used to visit the old place very regularly when they were in Edgware Road many years ago. The interior is not as charming as the old...place, and the menu is much smaller, some of the old classics have vanished, such as the twice cooked fish curry, and the old lunch deal no longer exists (used to be something like pounds for starter, main and dessert). Location is a bit of a shame as it feels like a bit of a rough area. Food was tasty, although quite spicy (ask for mild if required), and fairly oily (although normal in Burma). Probably not as good as before, although I give enormous credit to the owner for keeping this restaurant running (they have been through a difficult situation) and allowing us to experience Burmese food in London!"

Authentic and humble cooking. We were served by the chef, and she was friendly and informative about the food. All cooked well, and all very tasty.

If you desire good Myanmar cuisine then this restaurant is one that I would strongly recommend. The staff are friendly, and helpful, but more important the food is authentic, and the taste is better than Thai cuisine. View menu

I love this restaurant charming atmosphere, amazing and authentic food. Sadly it hasn't been open for a while now, perhaps even since Covid in Does anyone have any news or an update? I'd love for this gem of a restaurant to open up...again.

Our group had a stellar dinner at Mandalay! We enjoyed the cucumber papaya salad (amazing! shrimp egg rolls, lamb danbauk (wow! and the twice-cooked fish (fish curry). This is seriously one of the best meals in London, and you can’t beat the price. Visit...Dwight at the Mandalay, and sit back and enjoy the fantastic food.

We know Mandalay well from its Edgware Road days. Unfortunately the present New location couldn’t be worse. Please move as soon as possible as you will come to this conclusion very soon. Kings Road Hammersmith? High street Cricklewood? But Kilburn is a complete no no....Food was better at Edgware Road maybe wife on holiday. View menu

Such lovely people run this restaurant they will happily talk you through any item on the menu that is unfamiliar and make recommendations based on the best dishes from their country. The food is super tasty! Well seasoned and good spices. A lovely experience...and a pleasure to find yet another diverse choice for restaurants in the area. Thank you Mandalay!

I went with my family curious to try Burmese food and based on the good reviews I had read. The place was empty when we got there. They were reluctant to let us sit at a larger table despite no one else being there. Had...heard great things about the tea leaf salad but was disgusted to find a long thick hair in it. The place is dimly lit and could do with some renovation as it looks a bit drab inside.

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
