"We headed to The Chequers, a charming pub adorned in matching green hues, our anticipation for a delightful Bank Holiday lunch was high. However, regrettably, our experience fell far short of expectations. Upon arrival, we eagerly ordered the Italian antipasto as our starter, only to be met with disappointment. The selection appeared aged, lacking vibrancy, and unfortunately tasted stale and inedible. Our main course continued the trend of disappointment. The potatoes seemed to have been cooked days prior, lacking the freshness and flavor one would expect. To add insult to injury, the lamb dish appeared to have been hastily reheated in a microwave, resulting in an unappealing texture and taste. Frustrated by the lackluster quality of the food, we made the decision to send everything back—a disappointing outcome for what should have been a pleasurable dining experience at such a beautiful establishment. In conclusion, while The Chequers may boast a picturesque setting and inviting ambiance, the lack of attention to fresh, quality ingredients and reliance on reheated fare from days prior is a disheartening oversight. It is our hope that the management takes heed of such feedback and endeavors to restore the pub to its former reputation of serving freshly prepared, delicious meals."

"My wife and I looked for a local Mexican dinner for a Saturday night, and we found this lovely place. Even though we hadn't reserved in advance and the restaurant was fully booked, they were so kind to accept us. We ordered Fajitas, nachos and prawns in garlic sauce. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty. I tried a lot of nachos in different places, but this one was the best so far. The staff and the owner was friendly as well. Unfortunately, my wife forgot her bag at the restaurant when we left, with all the cards driving license, and she didn't even realise it afterwards. In the night, we had the door knocked and were surprised to see the owner at the door with the bag! He was so kind to bring it to our place! Thank you so much for everything, we will be back again!"

"We had a really nice meal with friends and the food was lovely. My only critisism would be that at £7.50, the prawn cocktail starter was overpriced. The prawns and lettuce were very fresh but there was no bread with it as you would expect so it was quite a small portion for the money considering you can get a main meal for £10-12. It was quite busy but the staff was attentive and they were quick with both the food and drink orders. My main meal wasn't bought out with the others and I had to ask if they could check where it was as the other 3 had started eating their meals. It arrived a few minutes later. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go back again."

"I had the wild boar burger and my partner ordered the ribs. Both dishes were visually appealing and tasted incredible. The burger was incredibly tender and juicy, while my partner's ribs were so tender that they practically fell off the bone. She said they were the best ribs she's had in as long as she can remember. The staff was welcoming and polite, going above and beyond to be helpful. The beer garden is perfect for enjoying a sunny day like today, and we will definitely be returning regularly. Don't miss the wild boar burger!"
