"New Orchard Cafe has a strange vibe to it. Decor feels a bit weird but the staff seem pleasant enough and the food is tasty, as well as being a very reasonable price. The menu is a bit of an odd mix of jacket potatoes, sandwiches and oriental food, but I suppose it gives a variety of choice. They have a separate vegan menu with some nice options. I had some pan-fried vegan dumplings, which came as a very generous portion and were really tasty. The homemade chilli sauce was also lovely. The dumplings came with a decent sized salad and the meal came to £5.50. The gentleman at the counter seemed to think I was a guy, but I had just rolled in out of the rain and was wearing training gear so I won't put that as too much of a mark against them. Aside from a mild case of misgendering, the service was friendly enough and prompt. Good shout if you're looking for vegan food in Poole city centre. Everywhere else seemed to have limited or non-existent options."

Sat in and had quiche and salad advertised the quiche as £2.50 in the cabinet, ended up costing me £6.95 for the quiche and a little salad and cheese roll!

A lovely cafe to stop chat with friends over a nice cup of something warm whilst enjoying either some delicious homemade cake or one of the many hot meals on offer! Worth a visit!

Passed this cafe by chance. Popped in for tea and cake. A lovely place that served my tea in China cup and saucer and no leakage with the tea pot. Gorgeous coffee cake. Definitely return. Shame not open Sundays. View menu

For our second visit to this cafe we ordered ham and salad sandwiches on brown bread and they were delicious. There was an additional side salad on the plate. Everything is home made and the service is very good with friendly staff. This is a great little cafe and well worth a visit.

Whilst in Poole we called into this cafe for lunch and chose the Cheesy leak topped Shepherds pie which was absolutely delicious, it came with vegetables and was very filling. The food at this cafe is all home cooked and the staff are really friendly. Whilst there are not many tables it is a great little cafe and I would highly recommend a visit. View menu

This cafe is now under new management. We called in for lunch. As soon as we opened the door there was a strong aroma of Chinese food. The menu now is peculiar, Chinese food, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, English breakfast and cake. Coffee wasn't that nice. Ordered a jacket potato with cheese and beans plus poached eggs on toast. The meals did not arrive together, the potato came first with the beans in the potato but the cheese was on the side salad. Five minutes later the eggs on toast arrived. Bill was £11. There wasn't much finesse and we didn't really enjoy our visit. Wouldn't rush back.

This is a very friendly cafe with smiles and jokes. It is obviously a favourite location for older customers who are known by name and friends. It was obvious to me that the owners care about their community. The food is a mixture of Asian and typical British cafe fare. It is cooked promptly and fresh. The prices are also very reasonable. There is a large forest mural on the wall and a loop of birdsong is played in the background. This was a nice calming touch and the owner explained that this is a proper live recording. I liked that tea was served with a nice teapot and a china cup and saucer.

"Booked a table of 5 for my birthday dinner. We were promptly seated then immediately asked for drinks orders before even being offered a drinks menu or water. After we had ordered drinks we were being rushed into ordering some food, every two minutes different waiters coming and asking if we are ready to order (at least 7 times). After we did order and the food was brought out, we were then just forgotten about and nobody came over anymore to check if we needed any more drinks (4 out of 5 glasses were empty) or if the food was ok. (It was- but no one checked). After we had finished dining, we still had empty glasses and had to wait 20+ minutes until we eventually stopped a waiter walking past and asked if we could order more drinks. The drinks then took another 15 minutes to come. It was also very disappointing that although we had mentioned on the booking itself that it was for my birthday, there was no acknowledgement of this (I have been before and had received a plate with ‘happy birthday’ written on it in some kind of sauce with a sparkler). My sister even went to ask the woman working on the front desk and received a standoffish attitude back saying no. When the £235 bill came, it even listed ‘birthday plate £0.00’ on it!!! That really let the evening down. The interactions with the staff themselves were great, they were very polite and personable but the actual level of service of being rushed to order and then totally forgotten about really dampened what could have been a fantastic evening."
