"Northbank is a restaurant that I have frequented in the past, and although excellent, it was on the more expensive side of things. Hence, when I came across an Opentable offer for 50% off food, I jumped at the chance of a more purse-friendly revisit! As a really classy restaurant located on the riverbank with a lovely view of London Bridge, it seemed the perfect choice for an upcoming double date. Michael and I, his old school friend and girlfriend, popped along last Friday evening. Service: Michael and I arrived just a little past 8 to find our dates for the evening already settled in in the welcoming bar with plush leather seating and red and slate decor. Since we were already a little late we opted to head straight for the table. A greeter efficiently took our name and coats, and showed us the way. We were taken to a nice enough table, located at the outer circle of the dining area by the window, but I was really pining for a booth table as I find them so much more intimate and fun, plus the lighting was a million times better to get some decent food shots (which is obviously the whole point of eating out, right? . I asked if we could switch and was politely told that, unfortunately, there were no booths available, much to my dismay! Oh well, worse things have happened. Plus the arrival of a carafe of iced tap water and warm bread butter swiftly distracted us; we wasted no time getting stuck in whilst we discussed the many, many inviting options on the menu. As we were just finishing smacking the taste of delicious, creamy, proper English butter from our lips, the manager came over to inform us that a party of 4 dining in one of the booths had just asked for the bill, and we were welcome to move once they had left, if we so pleased. I thought this was very courteous and accommodating of them, since we had already made a mess of our tablecloth and the number of booths is rather limited, so we were very grateful for"

This restaurant is quite good, but the menu is not as extensive as it seems in the advertisements.

Promoted as offering a scenic riverside view and being a high-end dining experience, Northbank fails to live up to expectations.

Overall very good. Bar service very slow and didn’t even seem to realise there was a Happy Hour on!! Certainly no explanation of which drinks qualified.

Beautiful ambience, right on the river Thames. Food menu is nice, lunch special 2/£14 or 3/£18 is an excellent offer, although the choices were very limited (1 starter / main / dessert to choose from). Service was attentive and excellent. Recommended View menu

Great views of the Thames, nice buzzy atmosphere, good food once you’ve navigated through the slightly chaotic menu. We all really enjoyed it and it is a good venue for either a special occasion or a business lunch I know because I’ve used it for both.

The ambiance is lovely, located right by the River Thames. The food menu is appealing, and the lunch specials of 2 for £14 or 3 for £18 are an excellent value, although the selection was quite limited with only one option each for the starter, main course, and dessert. The service was attentive and outstanding.

The service was slow, which resulted in a long wait for our order. The restrooms were out of toilet paper. As for the food, it was decent but not memorable. We were also seated next to a very loud group, which made for an unpleasant experience. Additionally, the window design let in drafts, making the area feel cold. View menu

Dining at Northbank was a delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made everything smooth and effortless. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and detail-oriented. We were seated in a lovely spot by the window, allowing us to enjoy views of the Shard and Millennium Bridge as we dined. The food was outstanding, with everything expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The fish of the day was delicious, and the crispy Cornish pastry was equally impressive. I truly believe their take on British cuisine is one of my absolute favorites. Overall, it was a fantastic experience in a cozy setting with excellent food.

Oh man. Northbank, you so good. I came here on a date with my dude, and I have to say it is PHENOMENAL. We had an early dinner because we're both weirdos, so we were actually the first people in the restuarant, but in the lead up we kind of hung around romantically a little way down the Thames path under wobbly ol' Millenium Bridge. My two course meal consisted of a tender, rare venison dish to start, served with walnut dust and green the meat was rich and seasoned to perfection and the accompanying tastes were a mix of delicate and complimentary that balanced beautifully. My main was pork served with parsnip puree, crispy hog's pudding and crackling, and again despite a small medium sized s...
