Hidden in the hills above Gavardo this is not a place you will stumble over but if you are in the area you should not miss it. We ordered a surprise cavalcade of seafood entries that all were unique and excellent. For first course we had a delicious mushroom and seafood pasta. The wine recommendation was a very nice local white. Deserts were good but not at the level of the other courses. Service is very friendly and efficient. Extremely good value for money.

Pegaso was our favorite place during our stay in Salo. The place is hidden in the hills right above Salo in Gavardo. The menu is only in Italian but don't worry, stuff will help you to choose the best food and the best wine which goes with it. We tried two kinds of shrimp, octopus salad, calamari with tapenada and radicchio (my number one), ravioli with beef (amazing as well), lamb, steak and sea bass. Don't forget about the old recipe tiramisu and homemade gelato! Tip: don't choose the wine, let the stuff choose for you. You won't regret!

The restaurant was recommended by our Hotel. It’s very authentic, as the complete family is running that business. Short but good conversations about the menu helped to make a perfect choice. The menu is only in Italian language, which I personally think it’s perfect, as I felt in a real Trattoria and not in a tourist restaurant. The taste of the food was very good, very rich in flavors. Paired with wine recommendations was the dinner all in all a great experience. We will definitely come back. Oh, not to forget!!! The vanilla ice cream was more then awesome. So creamy and tasty. What a treat it was to dine at Trattoria Pegaso! Simone was very kind in explaining all the dishes in English and recommending beautiful local wines. The food was excellent and consumed with as much appreciation as which it was made. The four antipasti were delicious, as was the mixed seafood grill, grilled tuna with capers and tomatoes and the pork shoulder cooked with pink salt. There was a delightful flare of different flavours delicately incorporated in the dishes. We felt as if in the company of family, served with great generosity and excellent music! Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Our waiter and sommelier was excellent, had no problem helping us out in English, which was nice as the menu is all Italian. My wife was very happy to find that they can make all of their pasta plates gluten free. The menus focus on either meat or fish, so vegans might have some issue, but i get the impression the kitchen can improvise and be flexible, nothing here comes pre packaged. The lamb chops are easily the best I've ever had. Until now i did not feel like the Italian kitchen was living up to the hype, but this place salvaged the culinary honour of the country in my opinion. Strongly recommend!

What a wonderful place! Family run by people who are obviously so passionate about food wine it was an absolute delight to listen to them talking take their recommendations. The owner chef regularly came over to check how we were going offer suggestions. The waiter/sommeliere has an incredible knowledge of the wine where it's from, which grapes, processes etc. We took his recommendation were super impressed. The wine he chose for us was amazing. We had their mixed seafood antipasti tuna sushi with sesame seeds, amazingly tender octopus potato dish just 2 of the 4 dishes they brought us. The pasta dishes were so tasty also enormous! .
