"As a visitor from Gloucestershire I've known this pub for some years. It is no exaggeration to say it is a very fine example of a traditional community pub of the best kind. The landlord is very friendly and welcoming and is well known for his culinary skills. Although I drink more wine than beer these days, I have it on good authority that he keeps his ales very well. The cosy bar area is comfortable and welcoming, and the locals are a thoroughly sociable and likeable bunch. I'd go so far as to say this is one of the friendliest pubs I've ever been to and, believe me, I've been to a good many! I make a special point of calling in whenever staying in Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire and I'm always made very welcome. I strongly recommend the Penllwyndu, which is a rare gem to be treasured."

Visited for Sunday lunch today, Small local pub almost in the middle of nowhere, small village a few miles out of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn) Got there 11:45 am and the place was packed Excellent food and beers, Staff very friendly and helpful , managed to squeezes us in for lunch. Food was perfect plate overflowing with selection so much so the Cauliflower Cheese was in a separate dish).Roast beef, 6 veg's and Yorkshire puds. Good selection of puds and did not cost a lot

We had Sunday lunch. Family of 4 (2 teenagers). The food was lovely. The atmosphere was brilliant and the views spectacular. The fire was burning when we arrived and the whole feel was friendly and cosy. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. They haven't spent lots of money making it trendy and niche, so it still has a lovely local pub feel about it and they deliver good food and plenty of it. The best thing for us is that one member of the family is Coeliac and they knew exactly how to cater for him, right down to the gluten free gravy. Thank you so much for making us so welcome, we waddled out the door and I still think about my apple pie.
