"We had to send one dish back! Delicious food but had to deduct stars for the cutlery not being polished there were dishwasher marks left on all of them, and the special of the noodles was very sour. I must say to their credit they replaced the dish quickly and without fuss so I 've increased my rating to four stars. Our friend is used to Asian food and eats it on a regular basis and he said the noodles were definitely off. Other customers were questioning the flavour but the chef was saying that it was correct. We feel the flavour profile was not balanced. Maybe too much lime juice was added to the miso? The steaks and mixed grills however were perfect. The ribeye cut like a knife through butter. The meat was so tender. Even the grilled herb tomatoes were so ripe and delicious. The chips were near perfect crunchy crispy and fluffy on the inside. They soaked up the vinegar perfectly which cut through the oil of the chips. Altogether a marriage of barbecue flavours that go together perfectly. We had the local IPA and a cider which paired perfectly with the meals. The restaurant was busy with local regulars and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Every request we made was met with a courteous no problem reply. Service was impeccable. The desserts for those in our party who could manage them were also delicious. There was a Mars bar Cheesecake and a kinder bueno tart which was dense chocolate. Highly recommended if you still have room after your main course! (I didn 't!"

2 different opening times displayed outside. Rude waitress and all chatting at bar about their weekend plans. Refunded to cook our steak well done, food was ok but not the best locally. Wouldn’t recommend for the price you pay.

This is genuinely the best steak I have ever had. So tender juicy great value. Really really impressed by the quality of food here, although I knew it would be good as it’s Barlows but my expectations were exceeded. Jurassic Steak, perfectly medium rare View menu

Great Sunday meal with my sister , first time visiting for us. Great service, food was cooked lovely. I had the half chicken which was big, only had very small serving of mash potatoes on my, should be more for price. Beer garden to the rear is a great area.

We went at lunch for a family birthday meal! The food and service were good. There was a menu on for one drink and one steak at £20 which was a great price. However there wasn't any veggie options, when we asked the staff they have us the evening meal menu and our family could order what they wanted! Steak was lovely but a little dry on the edges but I think that's down to the amount of people! I would go again!

Me and my husband went here for our anniversary I had the sirloin steak chips which was cooked medium rare like asked, it was lovely the chips need a little longer cooked in my opinion, but I still ate most as was really hungry. My husband had the mix grill which was £25 he didn't like the rump steak which is very unusual for him, and didn't like the gammon as it had lots of herbs and spices all over it, in his opinion The sausage was flavourless but the lamb he said was delicious.. The staff are very attentive and was always on hand if needed. It's a cute little place I'd maybe return again to try something different next time. View menu

You are meant to book before you go but every time you phone to book nobody answers and there is no way of leaving a message. This has happened many different times. I decided to just go there for breakfast this morning 8/1/22 as the food is good to find them closed. It my be because of COVID but it would be good if you are not open on the times that your website says you are open. Then put something on there to say you are closed as I traveled some distance. When I was outside four other people came and said the same thing. It does not matter how good your food is if your service it terrible. There are many other places that offer both that would like business.

We came to porterhouse by Barlows for our 10th wedding anniversary tonight after we had a fantastic experience in December. We arrived to find that they had dressed our table with anniversary balloons and offered us a complimentary drink. They even remembered us from our one attendance in December. They also remembered my dietary restrictions and that was just the start of an amazing evening. I ordered the pork belly and it was cooked to perfection. Very little fat and melt in the mouth tender. My husband had the tomahawk steak (you need to pre order it) and it was huge! Perfectly cooked to how he likes it with chips that were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. All of the staff...

"First time customer Many times I have driven to cleethorpes for gluten free curry sauce and today I was going to do the same, then my wife found the jolly fryer with a huge host of gluten free items including curry sauce The shop was easy to find and parking can be tricky but I managed to park outside. The shop was large and very clean ... like very clean! The staff looked clean presentable ...nothing worse than walking in to a food establishment and seeing someone who looks scruffy! The owner Mr jolly ill get on to him later really has put the effort in to this chippy and it shows The food .... I ordered 1 large gluten free sausage 1 large gluten free cod, gluten free curry sauce and chips The chips wasn't bad .. Nice crisp outer and soft inner they wasn't dripping with oil and nice and dry didn't stick to the box or paper... the only way the chips could be better if they was fried in dripping my personal choice The sausage was a standard chippy sausage not over cooked or dry and was decent The gluten free cod A nice crisp fish batter not to hard and not mushy, the fish was lightly battered and was perfect ... nothing worse than having fish caked in 4mm of batter. The curry sauce A very tasty gluten free curry sauce the viscosity was perfect and wasn't lumpy it was nice and smooth just like the other chippy I use in cleethorpes. Even if you don't have ceoliac disease or a gluten intolerance PLEASE TRY THE GLUTEN FREE CURRY SAUCE!!!! The owner aka... MR JOLLY You can tell he has put his heart in to this place and it shows a very clean and well equipped chippy that put the effort in so everyone can eat hear! Good attention to detail and he take pride in his work! This was the first time I have been to the jolly fryer and first impressions count, he is very welcoming and talks to everyone.. The negative I should have had haddock my own fault I asked for salt and vinegar and non was put on the wonderful lady must not have heard me Overall The food was piping hot even after a 10 minute drive to a less busy spot Mr jolly keep up the good customer service and the pride you take is brilliant A solid 9 out of 10 Will be returning and hopefully next time do a video food review for my channel"
