Restaurant Le Comptoir

We had a great meal back in March as the restaurant had just opened up for the season so we pretty much had the place to our own. The food was first class and the wines offered perfectly matched our food. We look forward to having another meal at this great place.

we enjoyed each other today. the eating and the wine are local and tasty enjoyed on a beautiful terrace, the interesting things to see. the employees are cordial and welcoming, so would definitely recommend to lunch or evening. especially when one of their concerts is on.

I visited Le Comptoir yesterday for the first time. I had not intended to but it was lunchtime and I was in the area.What a wonderful surprise. Tucked away on a sunny hillside with a great terrace. The ambience was great, the food excellent and reasonably priced and the staff were excellent too.The added bonus of a decent 9 hole golf course was good.I will certainly be returning on many occasions as I am building a house in a neighbouring village and will be living there soon, so I hope to make the place I go when i want a good meal.Congratulations on a winning formula.

What an unbelievably lucky find. I was biking through the pyrenees and realized I was not going to be near a large town in time for lunch. I stopped to ask for help from a local and was directed here. It was quite a climb on a bike to get to the restaurant and from the outside I was not expecting much. What a pleasant surprise! The host was very helpful and took care of me very quickly (he had a large group arriving on a bus in just a few minutes). The delicious meal was prepared from scratch and the gazpacho was to die for. The salad was wonderfully creative, with a nice mix of lettuces, veggies and warm cheese briouats. While visiting St. Girons we were looking for some local music and lucked upon an evening at the Le Comptoir in Montardit. Tucked away in the country side and part of a golf course they had an evening with local musicians arriving up French swing...music by Les Galopins. Fabulous group and great food, with desserts to die for. Nice patio with Greta views but this night it was coolish so we moved in doors and had the treat of watching the chef prepare all the meals. My husband and I visited this restaurant twice for dinner during our 4-day stay in the Pyrenees, and our only regret was that we didn't also visit on the other night that we ate out. Our first booking was made my our hosts at the...Haras Picard du Sant, who have an excellent relationship with the restaurant which ensures the diner a great table and service. The restaurant itself is situated about 1km from the village of Lasserre, and from the outside looks like quite a plain bistro. however once inside we were greeted by Davide, who on learning we were English, was happy to explain anything we needed in English (sometimes the schoolgirl French doesn't extend to items on a menu).
