"Maybe it was the moment, maybe it was the waitress and waiter, maybe it was the duty manager, but Im not prone to complement just for the sake of it, and Im not inexperienced in food; in fact Im very qualified and have eaten in the best and worst.....and this restaurant is exactly what Paris is good at. And I'd eat there again, as I have before, because I liked it.Having said that I know how and why some dont appreciate the true nature of a Parisian Cafe/Bistro/Brasserie and I also know what and why some Parisian staff think of their customers. Ive been one! And quite frankly I know why some staff, especially the French staff treat people as they do. Some respect and decent manners never hurt...TWO WAY...and the staff get so much poor treatment and/or get taken for granted by so many......some nationalities seem to be more guilty of that....But treat these guys well and offer a few words of French like S'il vous plait and Merci and they will look after you. If you speak better French, as I do, then they will treat you like a God! And also respect the menu and the offerings. Its not amazing stuff, its not haute cuisine, its not even that diverse....if you dont like that, then dont dine here! But what they offer is decent French cafe/brasserie food ....and in my experience its well served and its super value, especially for Paris. This is what Paris excels at, dont expect more unless you want to pay a lot more. And give the staff some respect, they will give it back. This is a good Paris cafe/bistro/brasserie,...expect no more than a simple menu, served well, possibly with some wine...and give the staff a smile and its Great!"

this place was very nice in 2012/2013/2014 but now it has become a real tourist trap and the new boss is not very user-friendly, he only talks about money.

frankly, 2 hamburger menus (which were very heavy to digest) to 44 euros. It's expensive. Even if the server is friendly we will not return. (It's a shame because the restaurant is well located near the big palace).

2 burger menus: 44 euros. this restaurant enjoys its geographical situation (near the grand palace). The waiter is friendly but these indigested hamburgers stayed us on the stomach all afternoon. disappointing restaurant. View menu

One comment that is enough to convince oneself to never go back: we order gambas jumped to garlic at 20 euros and we find ourselves with 6 poor lean shrimps that we could have bought 7 euros in the monop of the corner. vague impression of being taken for ...

Very bad experience. Tasteless salad with no sous as promised in menu to be honey and cold goat cheese on cold toast bread, salad leaves hasn't been washed properly and nearly broke my teeth. Careless waitress, only interested in collecting money. Had bad stomach afterwards therefore avoid at any cost!!!

The welcome is a little cold, we are installed on a table overlooking the outside. The dorade net is just passable, the salmon tataki is too cooked, I point out: no reaction. the gourmet coffee is correct, the cream also burned. €67.90 with a glass of wine and a half panached. the kitchen as well as the services are very medium, the value for money also. I stopped by after visiting an exhibition at the Grand Palais. Typical French brasserie, complete menu, very quick and efficient service and nice sits to people watching. Food was ok, large sizes for salads (good if you are hungry) but not for the carpaccio (stick with the salads, sandwiches or menu of the day). Convenient alternative if you are in the area.

During on our Paris vacation, the first couple of days were quite rainy... which gave us a good reason to stop for coffee more often. Which turned out to be a good thing as we has the opportunity to try a variety of French snacks and aperitifs. Le Grand Brasserie serves some cute canapes which are really small toasts with tasty tops such as cheeses, deli meats, roasted veggies. They keep an excellent company to a cold beer or a glass of wine. Highly recommended treatment for sore feet caused by long walks and against depression if it rains in Paris while you are there.
