"Entering the whole Schloss Morsbroich Castle ground your first stop needs to be the shop with a class of its own.....you have to purchase your entrance ticket to any of the events taking place in the Castle', here. The shop is run by free-lance staff...to support the cultural side of the Castle' and adds to keeping it's doors open. Anything hand selected and unusual, in decor, scarves, leather items, wooden toys, jewellery to name but a few can delight not only the eye but also makes you go out off your usual shopping way and tempts you to buy something special' for yourself or the person who has it all' but just needs' this special item. Before you go and have your foods, etc. in or outside the restaurant a stroll through the surrounding park is a must.....well kept with all sorts of flowers of the season delight your eyes. The restaurant caters for all ages and all taste buds, from vegan, vegetarian or/and meat eating customers....the well designed menu says it all. Cold/hot beverages, a selection of good wines, liqueurs and beers are all on offer, too. On my last visit I enjoyed a delicious ice-coffee on the restaurant's outside area overlooking the Castle's front facade. Long tables next to me had been previously booked by larger groups, who had just experienced an introduction talk in the Castle's Spiegelsaal (Mirror Hall) for a forth coming concert in town. All around me visitors have been raving about their foods some enjoying smaller salad dishes, soups, or just coffee's and cake. Children were playing on metal art designs situated on the grassy areas close by or just ran around. In the previously and redesigned stables of the Castle a group cleared out remnants of an event. These areas can be booked for all sorts of happenings. All in all this is a must visit' for any tourist/holiday maker or local who wants to experience a beautiful outing regardless the weather conditions."
