Staff very unfriendly and derogatory! Had to pay 5 CHF because we shared a pizza! Then there are the annoying flies

Good food. Service was a bit stuffy. Came to the conclusion that restaurants here only actually charge for tap water if you don't order other drinks... As this place did.

super lage, der sonnigste platz in engelberg. die bedienung jedoch ist grottenschlecht, langsam (ewige wartezeit, die kellnerin läuft 10 mal an einem vorbei, bis sie sich entschliesst, einen zu bedienen), unfähig und weit davon entfernt, freundlich zu sein. die freude am arbeiten steht denen richtig ins gesicht geschrieben (ironie off).kann ich nicht weiterempfehlen.

the restaurant has a beautiful sunny terrace, but eating was very low. our green leaf salads were just a shell of rocket from a bag, not especially fresh, with a few tomats and store them balsamico vinaigrette on them. the pasta was really...basic, too salty we had difficulty ending it. the host seem to be Italian, but unfortunately this is not the Italian food we have been looking for.

Wir wollten zwei Familienpizzas zum abholen bestellen, dies ging nicht da kein geeigneter Karton vorhanden war. Auf die bitte der freundlichen Dame am Telefon, bestellten wir 6 normale Pizzen, worauf sie uns (nach Rücksprache mit dem Pizzaiolo) sagte, dass es 2 Stunden dauern würde! Wir liessen es bleiben, es machte den Anschein dass der Pizzaiolo nicht wollte! Komisches Geschäftsgebahren.

Went there twice. Once for lunch on the terrace where you get the sun in the afternoon (good spot and a view of the old monastery). Had pizza and was decent and reasonably priced. Then again last night for dinner. Seafood salad starter which was...well presented and very tasty followed by the pasta with fennel sausage. Pasta was cooked well (al Dente) and portions a good size. Good wine list and all in all the bill was pretty reasonable.

Would highly recommend this lovely restaurant. A good choice of food. Well priced for Swiss standards. Friendly service with a lovely ambiance in the evening. I would however recommend you book beforehand if it is in the ski season, we managed to squeeze a table for two , they staff were so obliging but had we been a bigger group of people it might have been harder. This will definitely be our go to restaurant when we are in Engelberg. But next time I will book ahead of our trip.

Wir waren am Samstag in einer kleinen Gruppe von 9 Personen zu Gast.Karte war Aufgrund des Strongman reduziert, bei Reservation wurde dies nicht erwähnt. Restaurant war voll, Personal wurde jedoch nicht aufgestockt. Lange Wartezeiten, unfreundlicher Service, Essen ok, Portionen eher klein(nach 18km Lauf viel zu wenig).Bei der Bezahlung wurde dann der schon sehr gestresste Herr ausfällig, da wir einzeln bezahlen wollten. Er habe viel zu viel zu tun und solche Sonderwünsche gehen gar nicht. So viel zu Thema: der Gast ist König. War defintiv mein erster und letzter Besuch im Al Monastero.
