"My wife and I were on a group bike trip that went through Passau Germany. We were longing for some pizza and salad to change up from all the German food we had been eating, so we stopped for lunch at Ristorante Il Monastero. The staff mostly came from Italy to open this restaurant. We ordered the Caeser Salad and the Quattro Fromagio pizza. The salad was very good with nice crisp lettuce however the pizza stole the show. Now I am a pizza guy but I usually like mine with meat on it but this 4 cheese pizza was amazing with so much flavor. it had been cooked in their brick oven!We brought the rest of our bike group back their for dinner that same night. The housmade raviola was delicious as was everything we had for dinner. A wonderful meal at an extremely low reasonable price. the wine selection was good and very reasonable too!"

Found this place while walking by on a cruise walking tour. Great pasta, neat room, friendly staff with reasonable prices. This checks all of the boxes. You need to try it!

Being on my own on a business I went there twice. Nice food and friendly staff. Although I had not booked in advance, they found a table for me. On both occasions they offered a Grappa

Located in the heart of Old Town and just a stone's throw from Rathaus (where you could ride the shuttle bus to the iconic Oberhaus castle), one can enjoy having a palatable Italian dish.I would highly recommend it, especially for those who are going to stay there for a half day.

I am very enthusiastic and I liked everything. personal very friendly, competent, smiling and helpful. great consulting and fast operation. everything fresh made, tasty and interesting . fair prices . we have had a table outside, something tight, a little loud (road traffic,) but still from me immediately five strong stars, happy again.

Thank you, it's been all right. friendly, flinkes staff, helpful, competent and we were well advised when asked for recommendations. the variety of gastronomy in passau makes the decision not easy. we did not want to eat typical Bavarian and have deliberately searched 'world cuisine' and found...lovers of the Italian cuisine should go here.

We had lunch at Il Monastero, small Italian restaurant on a side street in downtown Passau and it was really good. The pizza was large and tasty. It came with a salad and was large enough for my wife and I to share. Price for pizza, salad, and soft drinks came to 13 Euros. We will eat there again next time in Passau. It is an old monastery and the waitress was dressed like a monk. Cute!

A brick-oven baked pizza is good for the body and soul and Il Monastero delivered one, via a habit-clad waitress, that was as delicious as any we've had in Italy. While many places have stand-out food, Monastero stood out for the kindness of its staff. When we entered, we missed the entry to the dining room, blundered past kitchen and bathrooms and stopped just short of their private quarters. They shepherded us gently to the dining room and put us at ease so we felt like guests rather than idiots. That's a rare gift. Mille grazie!
