I surprised my parents on there diamond wedding anniversary with a lovely afternoon meal..the food was excellent..the staff so friendly helpful..I would definitely recommend this pub will certainly be coming again..thanks for such a great experience

Absolutely incredible pub, great for anyone who’s just gone walking near. The pub is so cosy, very warm and has the sport on across multiple screens. The food portions are massive and fantastic quality. Great value for money. Service was fab, looked after our dog too! HIGHLY recommend.

I have visited this restaurant several times and the homemade beef mince pie, chips, and peas with lots of gravy are excellent. I enjoyed several pints of Stones with my meal. While the interior could use a bit of a makeover, overall it is a decent pub with tasty food and well-maintained beers. Thank you.

Went with a friend who has given a more positive review. Food was really good and excellent value at £7 for chicken curry and chips. But ambience was dreadful uncomfortable chairs crammed together. Shabby paintwork and decoration. Reasonable, but not friendly, service. Whole place looked run down. Good value if you want a cheap pub lunch and not much more!

We were a group of 6 adults, 7 children and 1 dog hoping to find space for us to sit outside for some late lunch. The food was excellent and the children had a whale of a time in the play area. Really recommend for families, the service was great despite us having to wait a little while to be able to order our food. Couldn’t argue as we hadn’t booked. Thank you!

We decided to have a light lunch at this restaurant after recalling a previous visit for drinks when we were last in the area a year ago. We both ordered the tuna melt sandwich with a side of chips and were pleasantly surprised by the large portion sizes - we had trouble finishing it all! With two bottled beers each, our bill came to a very reasonable £25.65. It's no wonder that despite it being a midweek lunchtime and slightly out of the way, the restaurant was quite busy. Great job!

I made a reservation for Monday lunch the day before. Unfortunately, three things went wrong during my visit. First, they couldn't find our reservation. Second, we were seated at the wrong table. And third, we had to wait half an hour for our food to arrive. It became apparent that they were preoccupied with a large party, possibly a wake, which affected our experience. Despite these setbacks, the restaurant still had great views, affordable prices, and good quality food, which is why I have given it a four-star review. However, this visit was not as pleasant as my previous experience.

This pub is so lovely and the food is amazing. It is much better to book to avoid disappointment. We went on a Monday evening, usually quiet but it was not this time. However the menu was still available and the roast on a Monday night is the best meal ever. Very reasonable prices too. Staff are great. Now they were very apologetic about the wait but really it was not too bad only about a 35 minute wait and we were warned. It is home made food so worth the wait for its quality. We had complimentary desserts as they were not happy that we waited for our mains. We were not expecting this, so very appreciated. Car park is very welcomed too. Been going in this pub for many years and always enjoyed ourselves. However, the pub has changed beyond recognition and not necessarily for the best. You only have to walk through the door and some snotty woman jumps down your throat asking if you have a table booked. When you explain no and before you get any further you’re told that there’s no tables and they’re fully booked for the rest of the day. When you only wanted a drink and maybe something to eat if there is by any chance a table, it totally puts you off going in again.
