Rojanos - Menu

LIke a motorway services decked out in old fashioned nautical attire in the middle of lovely Padstow. Service was awful. Prices even worse. We only went in because we really wanted a Dover Sole, ok the price was expensive... but worse than all of this my Girlfriend ended up with FOOD POISIONING from said Dover Sole. Awful place. Avoid.

in padstow for a few days to stay, surely it will be one or two fine restaurants adventurous, but outside of those, they always hope to find another type of restaurant, sit a more casual place, eat and relax at these other times, somewhere to park after a walk, break a frecher afternoon chocolate brownie maybe or an evening dinner that they can enjoy without. for us, on our visit in padstow, this place was quickly rojano on the square. rojano’s on the square is as the own website of the restaurant describes, "an Italian influenced family restaurant" and has been serving for almost 40 years in padstow under the Rojano banner....more

the place had a really funny and lively atmosphere that was helped by the sweet and charming waiting staff. on our Thursday evening the place was packed. the menu was huge and it sounded pretty good. at the beginning I went for the calamari 7.75, which was by far the best I ever tasted. I love calamari, but it is rarely cooked properly, often it is strictly in a fat soggy battery, but here it was quite the opposite. arrancini 9.50 were rich from the truffle there was plentiful in it and serious deception of the buffalo mozzarella, mascarpone and parmesan, so that they totally perishable. also satisfactorily the garnel and white crumb meat was bruschetta 8.50, which...more View menu

What a total disappointment! The starters were okay but nothing special (garlic mushrooms and prawn cocktail) but the sort of thing I could easily rustle up from the freezer. The children shared a garlic baguette that had obviously been reheated in microwave as it was hard in the middle. The children had chicken nuggets, chips and beans x but our “main” course was unbelievable! My vegetarian lasagne was a microwave meal shoved in an earthenware pot with a whole carrot plonked on top to fool you it was homemade (nice try! husband’s chilli and rice came in the same very small earthenware pot and was plonked on plate with the same “side salad” as I had. We spent the day in Padstow in August against my wishes as I've never taken to the place as it doesn't have the clarm of a typical seaside town but is crowded with expensive shops and restaurants.We were effectively forced into the place as everywhere else was crammed (as they usually are) and an alarm bell should have gone off as the place was only half full. I even joked that there must be something wrong with it as we could find a seat. It looks ok inside but the menu looked a bit on the expensive side so I ordered the cheapest main course which was a Cornish pasty and salad at and since I’ve had these before elsewhere and been happy with them I thought nothing of it.When it came I was pr...
