"Good pub this. I’ve been frequenting it for around 5 years now and I’ve never had a poor experience. It’s located just on the edge of Thorpe on the way to Virginia Water. There is parking out the front, to the side or another car park adjacent with a night barrier. The inside is lovely, genuine feel of a really nice old pub that is well maintained. Outside is great too with plenty of tables plus lots of fun “shed” style areas with heaters so you can stay dry should the heavens open up! Over the years I’ve had a number of dinners here, steak the most recent which whilst not the best I’ve ever had was still very nice and cooked perfectly to my liking, medium-rare! A very good selection of drinks on offer with polite and friendly staff. Toilets have always been fine."

Here for a family get together quite a large group, all meals arrived swiftly, generous portions exactly as described on the menu. Fairly reasonable costs. Not local for us but if in the area another time would consider this pub.

Met a couple of friends for a chat and a meal. I was worried because we were running late. The staff were brilliant, very welcoming and attentive. The food was superb and good portions. We were so impressed that we have booked a table in January for the new year. Many thanks to Jason, although all the staff were very professional but I didn't get all their names. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Thank you all. View menu

Only stopped by for lunch, so I can't comment on the rooms. I had the Full Monty mixed grill, which was huge! Very reasonably priced, and I was so glad I had an afternoon of walking ahead of me to work it off. Friendly staff and full of locals, which is always a good sign. Plenty of parking, but you're limited to three hours and have to sign in with your registration number using the tablets at the bar. Service: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value

Couldn't ask for more. Very pleasant service (the girl serving was very sweet indeed) with an excellent menu followed up by great food at a great price. For once I was pleasantly surprised by the bill! Add to that great interior and ample parking. It looks like it's busy in the evenings (we went for lunch) and has some very good cocktail promotions at the moment. Shame it's not my local as we would go more often if it were...but definitely worth a detour.

"stovells chobham surrey it is a hidden gem of this place with its South American influenced French theme menu. home made stovells gin is the series of the day my ex-college girl has made, now excellent chef fernando, and younger has come far. he will be on Saturday's kitchen this week with chef james martin, probably talking about the Mexican and Argentine punsch he put into his eating. the settings are more homely, but this is chobham for them a real quantendorf that is fucked somewhere in deep surrey. the entrance was greeted by a warm open fire from dried of wood and a cocktail or two. low ceilings, but the beams make them feel like they could go into a very lush pub! amuse bouche was a beautiful surprise, and the wood fired baked brot was delicious. smoked butter to go with it. grilled makrele, terrine, braided brisket, cadjau, petit pois asacienne and a whisper of chard all washed with a fine Spanish white, made it a very Mediterranean afternoon with a much taste and a beautiful environment too. the restaurant was full and the chairs were really comfortable, we enjoyed it immensely. my schokopude was perfectly plated and I loved the milcheis that came with him. the cheese selection was incredibly well thought-out and well presented with its own small card! 10/10 well made chef fernando, happy to see how great her restaurant does: and thank you for her generousness"
