"My husband and I found this lovely pub while out for the day. We were looking for somewhere nice to have lunch, drove passed The Royal Oak, which had a bright exterior and looked inviting, and we thought it fitted the bill perfectly, so popped in. We received a very warm welcome from the lady at the bar, who took our order for drinks and gave us menus before we found a table. The interior of the pub was extremely clean and tidy, with a nice feel about it, including little knick-knacks dotted around to make it interesting. The toilets were very clean and tidy. There was a good choice of food on the menu, as well as a Specials board. We choose a starter and a main course to have for our lunch, with our order being taken at the table. Both the starter and the main were well cooked, plentiful, nicely presented and very tasty. Sadly, we didn't have room for dessert. We chatted to the staff, who have worked at this pub for many years, and they were very friendly to chat to. We would highly recommend The Royal Oak for its extremely warm welcome and its very good selection of well cooked, tasty food. We will definitely return next time we are in the area."

Lovely staff. Had to stop over when my baby was sick in the car and the ladies in there were really great

Excellent tasting food. Very good quality and definitely value for money. Lamb shank was best I’ve tasted. Desert was delicious too.

Out for a family afternoon playing golf and pop in on our way home. The bar maid was friendly and welcoming the food was very good and reasonable priced. Will definitely go back.

Arrived tonight wanting a nice pub meal only to be told the kitchen was closed. Despite their website stating food was served from 6pm. How hard is it to put something on your own website to let potential customers know? Wasted journey.

Fantastic very tasty and reasonably priced. Best tasting lamb shank I’ve had. Good variation of food, plenty of specials. Food was served in good time, presentation was excellent. Desert was equally as delicious. Lovely surroundings and has a garden. Definitely worth a visit. I will definitely be going back.

Second time visiting this pub. It is underrated so felt compelled to leave a review straightaway. They have an extensive pub style menu that does not disappoint and lovely friendly staff and greet service. Only criticism is it would be good if they smartened up the garden a bit! People are really missing out if they drive by here. Highly recommend. Will be back soon.

The food in the oak is well cooked and plentiful. The landlady and chef are friendly and welcoming. The beer and food prices are also reasonable for the area. The pub is dog friendly. The pub garden is what I would call wild, and backs onto wheat fields. The garden could do with some new furniture, but would be ruined if allowed to be altered from its present wild looks. The pub is well worth a visit, however I advise ringing first to check on availability of food.

What a lovely Sunday Lunch, I had the Roast Pork, there was plenty of of it, with my favourite Crackling, and stuffing, a large homemade Yorkshire pudding, with Roasties and veg. My Husband had the Steak Ale Pie, which he said was delicious. We were too full for a pudding, but next time, I will certainly leave room for one. It was good friendly service. There is a garden, but although it was sunny, it was a bit windy to sit out there. But a great idea for the Summer months. Sorry, I forgot to take any photos.
