"Absolutely superb breakfast from this little cafe, one of the best I have had in a long time. Items were cooked to perfection for me, well priced and included some of the best gluten free toast I have had. Huge pot of hot tea with milk served in little milk urns which was a nice touch. Value for money, presentation and taste of the breakfast were first class, if you like your full breakfast this is well worth a stop."

Unwelcoming, unfriendly, bad food and high prices. I truly regret stumbling upon this place. A petrol station sandwich would have been a far better choice.

Excellent traditional cafe on the sea front. The place was busy with what appeared to be locals which is always a good sign. First class soup for myself and some sort of quiche for my friend which was deemed very good.

Visited today following recommendation from lady in the gift shop in Lochgilphead. Very nice food. Very fresh. No booking required. Food arrived in good time. Staff very attentive. Fair prices. Good quality. Would return.

On the look out for somewhere to eat lunch. Two dog friendly places on TripAdvisor in Lochgilphead. Spotty dog was very very busy looking so we nipped round to the rumbling tum. Definitely NOT dog friendly. Back to the motorhome for a not so satisfying crisp sandwich View menu

I’ve been going to this cafe for many years and really enjoyed the food until lately Went for lunch with my son. Orders two macaroni and cheese. The portions where terrible I counted 15 chips and a small spoon of macaroni. Anyway ate it anyway and was charged £19 On the plus side the staff are friendly and couldn’t do more to help.

On the early morning we visited, they only had one scone left, so early in the day, this seemed poor. The selection of cakes and traybakes on display to us was disappointing. It was. We felt too early in the day for lunch. We were recommended to visit this eatrie too. The cafe was not busy, although a few people entered to order takeaways. The service and staff were fine.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
