"Swedish angle to a good menu. Starters were good but a little expensive for what they were. Mains were the best course of the evening. My venison was exceptional. Desert was the weakest dishes of the evening. Small but well chosen wine list, though again a little pricey. Service was engaging and the room comfortable. Overall a recommendation and difficult to beat anywhere in Wargrave, Henley or Twyford."

"We've been to Orwell's multiple times and we will definitely be returning. The food just keeps getting better and more innovative each visit, and the wine pairing was perfect. Ryan provided us with a personalized sommelier experience and all the staff were laid-back and welcoming. "Absolutely amazing quirky pub that everyone should visit more than once in their lifetime! The decor is so unique, a real feast for the eyes and better than a visit to a museum of memorabilia. Hazel and Nick were so welcoming and their ability to cater for all diets is quite unique. As a coeliac I felt normal and really welcomed unlike at many establishments that just can't be bothered. Awarding winning pub and justly so. We stayed in the carpark overnight in our campervan and woke to an amazing sight surrounded by classic cars. The pub hosts many events and lots of tribute bands so we will be back very soon. Book your table and tickets as they are shure to sell out. Thanks to Hazel we enjoyed a lovely morning walk along the Thames footpath. Brilliant map Hazel.. we didn't get lost."

"The food and coffee were very good. We were out with friends that we have known for 40+ years. We knew we would have a good evening. How could it go so wrong?Service. Customer Service does anyone remember what this was? We had a table booked for 7pm. It was reserved. So far, so good. The menu was limited but we knew the pub had changed hands and was being upgraded. No problem. We were not given a wine list. We ordered house wine and beer. After ordering the food appeared in a timely fashion. They served three of us and then asked if there was anything else we needed. The fourth guest said she would like her meal, please. The waitress visited the kitchen and returned saying the Chef had forgotten to cook her meal but he would treat it as a priority. It didn’t take that long but could have been handled more tactfully. At 9:06 we were asked if we had finished and would like to pay. We had only just ordered coffee from another of the six or so waiters, chatting behind the bar we’d had to go to the bar to order more wine. This despite the fact that there were only two other tables occupied. The coffee arrived and soon after we paid the bill (adding a tip despite the lack of service). We lingered for a while as we hadn’t seen one another for several months. The other diners left and about 9:25 the lights were dimmed. There were several other customers still drinking. We realised we were expected to leave and, still in relatively good humour left the pub restaurant. We were saying our goodbyes when a young waiter raced out of the door and rudely, in a loud voice, asked if we had paid! We said that we had. He then told us to wait while he went in to check! I think at that point I had really had enough and explained how offended I was to be asked in the first place but then not to be believed was totally disrespectful. I had not been to the establishment for several years and certainly will not be repeating the experience."

"A lovely, modern but quaint, little gastro pub with outdoor dining. It was our first venture out post lockdown, and with a 1 month old at that. The staff were all fantastic, very attentive and caring. When we arrived they (without prompting) gave us a table with a bit more privacy and in a quiet area for the little one with space to leave the pram. The menu is simple but delicious. We highly recommend their smoked salmon starter. There really is only one (logical) choice of main and that's the steak. Various cuts available with some priced by weight. Our steaks were cooked just how we liked them and the sauces available were delicious (we had the peppercorn sauce and the red wine and bone marrow sauce). There was only one dessert that caught our eye on the menu and this was the Chocolate and Bailey's Delice. We were glad we shared this between us as it was huge. It was amazing and a perfect dish to finish off the meal. We'll definitely be coming back again soon."
