"We booked a table for 6 on the 15th of October 2023, we arrived early and were promptly seated in a pleasant inside position. Drinks were ordered and arrived quickly, service was friendly and efficient. We ordered starters and main courses. Our sharing platter was aweful although our friends' were satisfactory, I mentioned this to the waitress who was brilliant, unfortunately the main courses were on the whole dreadful and I again mentioned this to our waitress. The manager came over and we had a quiet charlt away from our table, he has a great future in hospitality, couteous and polite; and without hesitation resolved our issues saving our evening- well done! This is a great location with a lovely outside area but I'm afraid we'll never eat here again."

We went down to the Rushcutters for some food to celebrate an occasion. The food was divine, the atmosphere was cosy and the staff were all lovely and polite attending all our needs. Definitely will be coming back soon!

I had a wonderful breakfast this morning. Every item on my plate was delicious. My only issue was that the tomato could have been cooked a bit longer. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal. The staff was fantastic and very welcoming. View menu

Met by a sign saying ‘No Cash Payment’ another saying ‘Wait to be seated’ but no one approached us, so as we had booked, we had to ask at the bar. My flatbread was hard inedible, no presentation. The whole place needs a refurb, sticky tables, worn seating, toilets disgusting etc. Table service just ok, not friendly, so won’t be back.

Sunday Roasts very slow service and very over priced for the quality of the food. We had beef and veg and it was approx £18 each. The children's menu portions are tiny, daughter had a mini burger and it was mini!! Son had mashed potato and 2 x sausages with a few beans on the side. Overall very disappointed and it took over 30 mins to get them on the table. Better choice elsewhere View menu

Regular here and very rarely have an issue and on the odd occasion there is an issue Ben/Jonny and the team always sort it t out. The team all work really well together, nothing is ever any trouble and when we take our 2 well behaved dogs in with us there is always a bed and water bowl brought for them Looking at some of the reviews on here genuinely wonder what people expect from a family pub/restaurant

recently visited and a frequent visitor. Staff are great and so is location. However, its like going to a dogs kennel for a drink. I had a little one with me and inside i had to push a dog away from jumping at them then outside a dog ran at the little ones and the owner ended up hitting their dog to control it. From recent visits though the food is perhaps only fit for dogs. Family friendy i dont think so Chef brewer/Greene king. Gets two stars because the staff are great and have to put up with this farm.

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
